Let me start by saying I am glad kitty has been able to go to the vet and that you found someone to help you be able to do that! That is wonderful news and even more so that she seems to be improving everyday! As far as the fish mox... I maybe wrong on that... but I have had fish for years now...

I would not recommend fishmox as it is high on salt (bad for cats) and the medicine dosage is very low. I don't think you will find anything like it over the counter and I would be very careful as some human 'alternative' drugs may actualy make your kitty worse, and cause other problems with...

When I had my blue russian I had bought a dog fountain which held more water and went on vacation for a week and had my friend next door come in to replenish the water and feed some wet food. When I returned the fountain had a red slimy flim in the water bowl. Fountain was gone after that!

I am sooo sorry for the loss of your beloved Moo... I was a mess when my buddy passed and I too wanted to have something of his that I could have with me all the time... luckily I am a arts and crafts with the kids freak so I had some baking clay handly and made impressions of his paw for each...
