I have 1 cat with crystals that is on the Royal Canine SO-he eats the wet and dry food. I also have two female cats, trying to separate them for feeding became a nightmare so all three of mine eat the wet and dry RC SO and have been for two years with no problems.

Sounds like he is on the road to recovery-it does get better a little each day!

My cat has the same thing-he gets this every june-July for a few weeks, he scratches the heck out of his ears as well. My vet thinks it's allergies, because it eventually goes away and happens the same time every year.

I agree 100% with CatLadyVet Tech-get him on prescribed food immediately. My cat Blue went through the same thing, my vet recommended Royal Canine SO and he has been on it ever since. DO NOT feed him any treats or table food though-the prescription food alters the ph and destroys the crystals...

An update- Blue seems to be better-I went to the Vet and talked to him, he didn't seem concerned and said it sounds like a hairball issue, he advised I give him a little Laxatone for the next couple days and see how he does. I also had to buy his prescription food as the bag was almost empty...
