also, the reason for trying this is she may have IBD. i've read on a few sites that the probiotics in plain unsweetened kefir may help. since this mix would last 5 days i was thinking of adding 5 tablespoons. thoughts?

there are tons of articles about doxycycline being effective for killing heartworms. even the american heartworm society recognizes it's effectiveness. google doxycycline heartworms. it doesn't kill the worm it kills a certain bacteria in the worm and without that bacteria the worm dies slowly...
also sorry to hear BJ has heartworms. since i'm researching parasites i decided to do more reading about heartworms and much to my surprise i hear heartworms end up in the lungs of cats. dogs are the natural host and they know exactly how to get to the heart in dogs but get lost in the cats...
