    a real tail chaser....

    The cat is a female. About 6 years old. It was normal for her to do it once and a while, but has been doing a lot, i.e., 3-5 times a day, the past few months. Thanks for any suggestions.

    This is a somewhat extreme measure, but they do make mats that run a VERY MILD (but effective) shock to the cat when they both they put both of their paws on it. They learn quick where they should not be.
