Chowder had the same situation. I got him when we was 2, but before that he had lived on the streets.
I guess I'll see how he heals after the extractions, but I really would like to keep him on all wet food. I could try using the Rx kibble as a treat and give him a small portion to see how...
How long has the eye looked this way? Are you sure it's an infection and she didn't just get some kind of gunk in her eye? You could try gently rinsing the eye with an eye rinse and see if it clears up in a few hours. However, if it's conjunctivitis it needs antibiotics to heal. Do you have...
Chowder is having his first dental next week and they're estimating about five extractions. The vet said she wanted to be proactive and pull any that look like they could worsen in the next few months.
My question is, what's the deal with these dental foods? I have recently transitioned...
Chowder is a good eater, but I have a friend with an older cat (9 years old) who refused canned food and she topped it with those little feeze dried seafood treats. The Pure Bites shrimp and also Cat-Man-Doo bonito flakes. It seemed to help.
Thanks for the input. I know the local pet food store sells the Natural Balance LID Duck and Pea canned. I'll go buy some of that tomorrow and give it a go I guess. I might try to get a couple chicken wings and give him a little piece to see if he'll eat it. Maybe a meat counter would only...
Hi everyone. First off, thank you so much for your support in the previous thread I made about Chowder's ear and eye problems and the vet's mixed up records. The old thread can be seen here if you need to catch up: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/272709/really-annoyed-at-the-vet-would-love-advice...
His specific case was odd. He was brought into the vet by a lady as a TNR. They tested him while he was there and determined that he shouldn't be released as he could infect other cats. The rescue, of which my good friend is the co-director, took him on financially and tried to find...
Hi everybody. I haven't posted here in a while, but felt compelled to post about this.
Day before yesterday, I noticed a lot of clear discharge coming out of Chowder's right eye and it was slightly red around the outside. I thought maybe he got some debris in there off the floor and rinsed...
I realize it probably bothers him. I just don't feel comfortable with him not having any kind of visible ID in case he gets out. I guess I'm wondering what is more durable or what would be more comfortable for him. I know a lot of people say there's a collar adjustment period and he's only...
First, thank you for helping her!
I don't think you need to worry too much about her getting too attached to you, but if you are you could always have some other people interact with her and see how she does with them.
Adorable kitten.
