    It turns out he has acute kidney failure. One kidney is shrivelled up and the other one has been doing all the work. Something must have overloaded the one good kidney. Now just waiting to see if he recovers.

    Thanks ellag and stephanietx 128512 I have taken him back to the vet. She said the tramadol would have made him hallucinate. Good to know. But he's having tests for his walking and fluids. I thought it might be arthritis too. That's why she gave him the shot. I think he might be full of hair...
