When we first got our new kitten at 5 months old the vet told us he has luxating patellas but didn't seem too worried about it. I've done some Google searches and nothing I've skimmed over looks benign with it. A few articles even talk about surgery though that's on older cats that have...
Thanks for the condescension in that last part. I do realize males are generally bigger than females but I didn't realize how much bigger he'd be since I've never been around male cats.
@destinyz12 The cup of meow mix is what the bag says. I thought it was quite much for a kitten to but he eats all of it right away and doesn't even allow for any nibble room for later. I'll look into higher quality food. I bet that could have something to do with it. That's also why we've been...
My kitten is about 6 months old weighing close to 8 lbs. I feed him dry meow mix and wet fancy feast. He gets a cup of meow mix and two can of fancy feast a day, sometimes 3. This still doesn't seem to satisfy him. Am I doing something wrong or is he just being a lil chunker?
I'll upload more pictures if needed. He's such a wiggle worm. He's about 6 months old in this picture and weighs close to 8 lbs. What breed of kitty do you guys think he is? And are male cats usually this big? I've only ever had females and they're a max of 10 lbs full grown but fat (they're...
Thank you all! I feel like neutering my kitten at 6 months will be perfectly fine now. I enjoy his baby face and sweet temperament. Definitely don't want that to change.
No, he's never approached me though I see him more on a monthly occasion. I only go outside to get into my car or go out in the backyard. And unless he wants to get chased by my dogs, I don't think he'll go back there.
I've heard of people waiting to neuter toms until they've reached full maturity because it'll give them a chance to get to their biggest possible size. Is this true? Does neutering them at 6 months make them smaller than waiting til they reach maturity?
@Kat0121 I'd love to set him up a shelter and care for him but I just took in a kitten and I'm 8 months pregnant so I really don't have too much energy in taking care of an additional animal, even if it is more passive than the rest. I have three cats and three dogs and a baby to prep for...
