I have automatic hands. Whenever I feel that ball of fur pounce into my lap my hand scratches under his chin, behind his ears, at the base of his tail, under his chin, behind his ears, repeat...   And then it all stops when he pounces out of the human's lap and pretends like nothing just happened.

This is a pretty old thread, so the OP probably won't see this, but you can always start your own thread - other experienced members might be able to help you with that then.   The OP did mention in the first post that her mom bought the dog from a pet shop.

My 12-year old DD went to see it today with her friends and they loved it - gets a bit violent/loud at times, but that's what the book is about. And the cast was amazing. I'm sure you and your kids will like it.  Most of the movies we watch now as a family are ones that the kids want to watch...
