My cat was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy the beginning of February. It was only discovered because my vet discovered a very faint heart murmur and sent me to a cardiologist. He will be 8 years old in April. The cardiologist put him on enalapril, atenolol, and plavix. I guess my...
I feed the wet in the morning and dry at night
No, he hasn't been weighed recently. The vets' solution to weight loss around here is Science Diet and that's not even something I would consider.
Thanks for the replies! He currently gets approximately 2.25 oz of canned food and 1/4 of a cup of Wellness. When I was still feeding the EVO he was eating 1/4 or a cup of that plus the same amount of canned as he's getting now and gained weight on that.
ETA: He doesn't get any treats in his...
Has anyone had their cat gain weight on a diet of canned food alone? I ask because my cat is overweight. He weighs approximately 16 pounds and should ideally weigh 12-13 pounds. He gained a lot of weight eating a combination of EVO and canned and he's now on Wellness Healthy Weight and canned...
We used mineral oil at the shelter I worked at. We also used Revolution when it was available though you do have to be careful of the age. The mineral oil worked a lot better than the Mitaclear, etc. that we tried.
For those that feed it or are thinking of feeding it Pet Food Direct has it on sale. They have 12/5.5 oz. cans for 11.99 or 24/5.5 oz. cans for 21.99. Also, if you use code: PET3481 you get 20%. The code is good through 12/9.

If you decide to wait on the female make sure not to wait on the male. They may be siblings but given the opportunity they can and will breed. I wouldn't take my chances. There are too many unwanted cats/kittens out there.
Has anyone tried this food? What did you think of it? It looks pretty decent to me and it's only ~75 cents a can. Here's the website http://www.nlpp.com/cannedcatfoods.htm
Thanks!
I would try changing the food. My dog kept getting reocurring yeast infections in her ears and they didn't go away until I switched to a better quality food.
I've only had my cat's "baby shots" done: Distemper (Panleukopenia), Rhinotrachetis, Calcivirus, Chlamydia, Leukemia, Rabies. They were done when I got him at 5 months and 2nd set at 6 months when he got neutered. He is an indoor only cat though and doesn't come into contact with other cats. If...
