um, i am not sure i have described her nails accurately
the nails are so long, that they curl back toward her body
<this is not my cat, BTW, i am taking care of her for my sister, who has the clippers that this kitty is so afraid of)
anyway, imagine an almost closed up circle of nail- the...
THANKS DRAGON LADY AND VIKKI!!
i think i will try the nail clippers i have, i know they are sharp
if that goes well, that is what i will stick with
if not, i will look into the kitty nail scissors- someone on anther site sent me a link with more info on them
i think i would have more control...
hi,
i am trying to find a method of clipping kitties nails.
i CAN'T use the cross blade clippers that are rounded off on one end, apparently to keep from clipping the kitty instead of the nail
the kitties nails are too close to her body and this actually hurts her- so she is afraid of the...
hi,
i am caring for my sisters elderly cat (the kitty is 15 1/2 years old, and quite healthy looking!)
the thing is, she LOVES canned food! my sister said it was ok to give her a tiny bit (one teaspoon) per day along with her dry food.
ok, i am a pushover i admit it
please don't beat me up...
my kitty kali is four years old. i took in my sister's 15 1/2 yr old cat about 2mos ago
they have worked out their differences and play together, etc
BUT they seem to either: have taught each other their bad habits, or, they are jealous of each other and both want my attention...
here's what is...
THANKS Sandie!
yes, Sita was tested for feline leukemia and aids when i first got her
and the cat from the humane society was tested at the HS-
so at least we know neither of them have that!
i didn't know from what i read, how bad this could be- it seemed from what i was reading that almost...
hi
my daughters cat (which used to be my cat) has gotten feline herpes (and/or chlaydia) from a new cat that was brought into the home
<my daughter lives in a 5 bedroom apt, and shares it with 4 other people- one of the other tenants adopted a cat from the Humane Society that was SICK- and even...
hi,
i am cat sitting (long term) my sisters elderly cat (she is 15 years old)
i have known this cat all her life, and she loves to eat and had gotten a bit plump
since being with me, she has lost some wt, which wasn't bad, since she was over wt to start with
but now i can see what i always...
by all means get kitty checked out, but although it is unusual it is not unheard of for cats to eat odd things, like dirt or litter
my sisters cat just adores dirt! she won't touch a house plant, but she will dine on the potting soil if you dont' cover it well!
and i have heard of other cats...
i had never seen this drooling from a cat until i catsit a friends cat and she would get up on my chest and drool just as you described, as if water was pouring out of her mouth-
fortunately she was on my chest and not up in my face!
i am now catsitting another cat, and when she is real happy...
um,i am not sure i am understanding the question- why would a kitten not be able to use clumping cat litter?
in any case i cant' think of any reason not to switch....
the clumping cat litter is usually more like sand and i think most cats prefer it
good luck
Hi,
i am cat sitting my sister's 15 year old cat, Mickey
well, actually, Mickey is more or less "mine" now, as long as my landlord doesn't find out (i am only allowed to have one cat, and i have a 3 yr old of my own)
my sister is paying for cat food and litter and i buy treats and such.
Mickey...
do your cats like to be petted and praised? maybe you can try that instead of food treats
i wanted to train my cat with treats but she doesn't care about treats at all
she likes praise but only wants to be petted when she comes to me, so i have not been able to train her too much
she knows...
hmmm, naming kitty- i love that part!
what is the personality of the cat?
you say she is smart, hmmmm....
(wheels are turning)
oops wait, you didn't ask for any help with the name did you?
oops, sorry, i get carried away.
i knew a cat named Missy, so named cuz she was "prissy" and quite a...
Sniffs your navel?!?! that is so cute! (and weird)
well, i guess as long as they know what they are doing....
my kitty will also get on my chest when i am laying down and present her back end to me (to sniff, i guess??) i guess she thinks it is the polite thing to do!LOL
they are funny...
