Cat vomitting, hasnt eaten in 3 days, vet cant figure it out...any ideas?

Today we fed him an entire pack of the tuna bisque (via syringe) without mixing any water or pedialyte in it. He held it down, and as of tonight we have had no vomiting in 2 days. He seemed relieved to have so much food in him. He got some energy from that meal and has been hiding less, even...

Cat vomitting, hasnt eaten in 3 days, vet cant figure it out...any ideas?

He seems to be able to keep liquids down, and he drinks on his own still. The sneezing seems worse. He is on cerenia as of now. I would love to get the ultrasound but the price tag for it is $700, and completely out of our budget after paying for his treatments for the calicivirus (a couple...

Cat vomitting, hasnt eaten in 3 days, vet cant figure it out...any ideas?

My 10 yr old male cat (Java) has been really struggling these past couple months. About 2 months ago he contracted Calicivirus, and we began the long road to recovery. He recovered, completely, no symptoms for just over a month. 3 days ago however we woke up to throw up, and a hairball. Normal...

Cat sick, possible Calicivirus, in need of advice!

We are on day 18 now (Euthanasia is the absolute last resort). We've seen many improvements in him since our last vet visit. They gave us cerenia, and it worked wonders! Hes his usual upbeat self, walking round, jumping on and off our bed, no more hiding. At a glance his ulcers look much better...

Cat sick, possible Calicivirus, in need of advice!

We have just returned from our primary vet. He concluded what we already expected, Calicivirus. We were given a new pain medication, MORE antibiotics, and sub q fluids again. His biggest concern is the lack of food so he advised us to continue the syringe feeding, and said at this stage it...

Cat sick, possible Calicivirus, in need of advice!

Thank you for the well wishes! Today is day 7 of his symptoms. Our vet should be back tomorrow and Im hoping they can squeeze us in. He is still refusing to eat or drink, so we are still syringe feeding him.  We started the pedialyte and hope that helps with the dehydration. I bought some...

Cat sick, possible Calicivirus, in need of advice!

From my understanding our vet checked for the crystals specifically. I dont believe at that point she was looking for anything else since he had no fever and she believed his mouth and gums looked normal at that time.

Cat sick, possible Calicivirus, in need of advice!

He seems to have ups and downs. He seems lethargic mostly, but has the occasional moments when he will get up, move around a bit n even attempted to jump on our bed. But these moments are few and far between. We are still force feeding him. The er vet recommend we do so especially prior to...

Cat sick, possible Calicivirus, in need of advice!

I should mention we have 5 cats. This particular cat (Java) is my oldest, I have had him for 10 years. I do not know the age at the time I found him. He was a kitten I found abandoned on vacation. We recently fostered a stray mother cat and her 5 kittens until they were of age to be adopted. At...

Cat sick, possible Calicivirus, in need of advice!

Both vets checked his mouth, just a visual exam. The first vet (our primary vet) used the wooden stick to hold his tongue examined his mouth. She said she seen nothing to indicate any issues and his gums were a healthy color. The following day we took him to another vet (emergency vet hospital)...
