HELP! Polly's stuck in the toilet! (Video)

That was an unusual cat toy to buy them for their Christmas, but it's obviously a great success!!!!! Penny

    Yesterday's News and Litter Additives

I've recently discovered Cats' Best by Oko Plus. It is unbelievably wonderful! Everything clumps and is very easy to lift out. There is no horrible ammonia liquid in the tray. It lasts forever. It's biodegradable and the most-used tray is in the bathroom, so when I smell a nasty, I just...

    Worried about next door's cats...

When I'm looking after them while the owners are away, I talk to them while I'm putting out their food and one in particular comes and rubs against me. She came through the cat flap at 4.30 one morning a month or so ago. The dogs (all our pets sleep with us!) heard her and went roaring...

    Worried about next door's cats...

I'd looked at kennels in the petshop, but they were a bit too expensive for us. So the idea of the hooded tray was like a bolt of lightning! I think it's just big enough for them to cuddle into together.... No snow yet, but lots of flooding (K and E were in a cattery for the last week and a...

    Worried about next door's cats...

Our new-ish next-door-neighbours are a widower and his grown-up daughter who lived on a farm before they moved here. They have a sweet old dog and two lovely cats, Katie and Eilidh. K and E are 'outdoor cats' and aren't allowed in the house because they will/might mess inside. Of course, on...

    natures recipe is it good?

Is it Nature's Diet? Because if so it has the benefit of not involving the horrible animal experimentation that most of the big petfood companies are involved in.... Penny

    Please send vibes for Rambo...

Poor wee chap! Could he have been chewing on a plant, maybe? Some of them can cause problems... I'm thinking of him and sending good thoughts, anyway. Penny

    Tom 's skin problems

I don't think it's ringworm, Helen. The vet didn't mention it and it doesn't look like it. Also, with ringworm being infectious to humans, and with all the cuddles this boy gets, I think we'd be suffering from it by now. I don't know if it's an allergy or an immune deficiency ... I hope not...

    Tom 's skin problems

Not long after we got Tom, I noticed a wee scab on his neck, the sort that comes with rough playing, I thought. It then grew and spread and his hair came off and his skin began to look very sore and weepy. The first vet gave him steroid cream and antibiotics. I really felt that this would...

    Old member, returning

Thank you so much for all your kind, welcoming letters. It's good to be back! We are all so loving having our two new babies and it's such a relief to see that terriers and kittens can be great friends. Here's Mimi again, sharing the heat from the stove with her big brother... And I was...

    Old member, returning

We don't know where she got her Siamese looks from... With her, in the cage in the petshop, were her black and white brother and her grey sister. A man had just handed them in, so the petshop people didn't know her history... I wish I could have taken them all... We feel that she's almost a...

    Old member, returning

It's such a long time since I had a chance to visit and post to this site that I feel I should re-introduce myself! When I last posted, we (husband, son, daughter and I) had two cats, a black girl called Molly and a black and white girl, Susie. I've had cats for over thirty years, usually...

    What Are Your Rules?

As far as I'm concerned, the only acceptable way to drink milk is from the udder - and it should be the calf that's doing it. That's who it was produced for and if the calf wasn't taken away, against their will, from his/her mother while she was still lactating, that's the only creature that...

    Let's See Everyone's Shelter Kitties!

Here is Molly when we first got her from our local Cats Protection League: Here is Susie who came from another CPL shelter, on the day we brought her home: Here she is with her big brother, Bobby, a Border Terrier X Jack Russell Terrier, last summer: And here she is relaxing a couple of days...
