    Cat Litter Recommendations

I'm with Ducman too, I switched to Swheat Scoop recently because I found Feline Pine was too light, and my cat had a much easier time making a mess with it. I've never used clay litter before, but I've heard Swheat Scoop is similar to it in weight and texture. I also like that I can flush it.

Dropping things to wake me up.

So, as a Siamese, I have accepted that Dexter will forever be noisy, however I have started to notice a new trend in his behavior; it seems he's taken it on himself to be my alarm clock now. He typically does this by choosing the heaviest object on my nightstand he can move, and proceeds to...

Me and my Siamese in NC

Well I kind of like the idea of letting him sleep on the bed, and I can't put him out of the room since my roommates have their dog that he still isn't used to (the dog would also eat his food and anything in his litter box, so they're in my room too). Last night he actually slept longer than...

    Mewjhur Update

Hi! I'm glad to hear Miewjhur is behaving better. I know I'm new, both to the community, and to cat ownership, so my opinion might not carry a lot of weight, but I did read your previous thread, and wanted to say that I can see how some of the replies might have come off as condescending or...

    New kitten challenging older dog

But I feel so bad leaving him cooped up in my room! :P It's difficult to find a lot of time when the dog is away, or closed off in a room, to let Dexter roam the house, though it sounds like that's what he needs?

    New kitten challenging older dog

So, I just got Dexter, a male Siamese kitten about three days ago. He's not quite a year old, and he likes exploring the house, but my roommates have a young Akita/Husky male named Valiant. Valiant is about 2 1/2 years old, and about 80 lbs, which is a lot bigger than a kitten. I was worried...

Me and my Siamese in NC

Yes, he is going to be inside only, with the possible exception that I may decide to try walking him, time will tell. Not only do I want to keep him safe, but if he's out by himself I can't play with him.

Me and my Siamese in NC

Oh man, yeah, he woke me up several times during the night last night purring and meowing while he walked all over the bed and bedroom. Maybe if I let him nap less he'd sleep more at night. :P

Me and my Siamese in NC

Hah, I don't really know much about Siamese cats, I'll admit. Everything I posted was just stuff I've read in the past few days since getting him. Thanks for the warm welcome though!

Me and my Siamese in NC

Hi! I'm James, and just became a cat owner. He's a Siamese kitten named Dexter, a little less than 1 year old. He was found stray as a kitten, but the people who took him in before had an older cat who was not appreciative of him. Anyway, I've never had a cat before, so I figured it might be...
