Just making sure you got him tested. I see a lot of people on here that think their cat has a chicken allergy because the cat is throwing up the "Chicken, Pea, and Rice" kibble or similar. It's usually not the chicken. ;) In that case... have you thought about supplementing yourself? I make my...
I wouldn't start with something you have to supplement. Honestly, there's a learning curve when it comes to raw feeding, and supplementing a commercial food would be a pain. Might as well make your own at that point. Bravo has veggies in it too... which are really unnecessary and can be harmful...
If it's bile in the morning, or maybe after going all day without food while you're at work, it's probably just acid. Mine get like this, so I give them a late night snack before I go to bed, and that solves the problem.
Prescription food is crap. I would 100% avoid it. Most vet's only know...
I honestly just skimmed it because it was pretty lengthy. It was fairly anti-vax, but it didn't bother me. I'm pretty limited vax (generally kitten shots, first rabies, then titers.) But my cats are indoor only, and I don't have other animals. I think she was just grieving and wanting to make...
What about freeze dried treats? You could top some yummy canned food with some freeze dried meat treats.
And raw meat isn't bad for cats. Cat's are obligate carnivores and survived for millions of years on raw meat. :) If you want to try raw, maybe give him a small piece of raw chicken or...
If you have an independent store near you, Dave's Pet Food has decent canned, similar quality to Wellness. And a 12 oz can is like $1.89 so it's way cheaper.
I'd really recommend switching up the wet food. Fish is fine as a treat once a week, but it's not great for cats nutrition wise. Most...
You'll have to try out different textures. All cats have their preferences. :) But look for the meatiest food you can find. Look for foods with no grains or veggies. Fancy Feast classics are inexpensive, and loved by most cats if you are looking for some place to start. Sheba pates are decent as...
Radcat is made with eggshell, so if he's fine with Radcat, he shouldn't have an eggshell sensitivity. Egg and eggshell are separate ingredients so cats can be allergic to chicken, and be fine with chicken eggs, or be allergic to eggs but not eggshell.
Can you cut them out with sharp scissors? One of my cats gets mats, and I can usually snip them with scissors and then if there's any left (close to the skin) they're easier to comb out after you've got the main mat out. She's not a giant fan of being brushed, but doesn't mind scissors as long...
You could totally feed raw for less than that. I'm at $56 per month (food cost) for 2 cats. The supplements are crazy cheap and last forever if you supplement yourself. It's the premixes that drive the cost up. I feed boneless ground and supplement myself. It's easy. I just made 6 weeks of food...
That was supposed to be yearly. Oops.
Thanks for all the kind words! I'm excited but nervous. Learning new things and change is kind of nerve racking for me.
