I'm pretty much in the same situation, with the same worries.
P+P will be 8yo the end of May, and I just turned 64 last month. But, all 3 of us have chronic health concerns. We make quite the team. 🙄

I think there's a difference between stating an opinion, and insisting that "I'm the vet, not you. I'm right, you're wrong!" The first one cares about the patient. The second cares more about their fragile ego.

Personally, I'd set out frequent, small meals throughout the day - just so he understands that he won't have to be hungry in his new home. Then slowly move meal times further apart as he settles in - so he doesn't get fat. :winkcat:

In our case, small amounts and short term use, the powder makes more sense cuz it won't expire like the liquid will.
Otherwise, I'd definitely go with the liquid form! :winkcat:
