haha this sounds like my house! Sometimes we'll search the whole house and find like 25 mice and we'll put them all down on the floor in front of Nimbus. He gets so excited he doesn't know what to do with himself at that point haha.
What kind of wet food is it? Shredded w/gravy or solid pate? Maybe they don't like the pate kind of wet food---or vice versa. Wet food seems like a tricky thing with some cats and it's just a matter of time and testing every brand out there. Mine are extremely picky and will only eat...
Fromm makes wet food, but I don't see it sold as much as the dry food. It is shredded meat and gravy kind---with assorted flavors: chicken, tuna, duck... They also sell small cans of just gravy (it has small bits of veggies in it too). I used to feed my kitties both the dry and wet food...
Definitely anything with feathers. Da Bird is really fun for cats, but be a little careful---my first kitty used to hurt his mouth on some of the sharper feather shafts when he was a kitten---so, I'd recommend starting out with softer feathers for kittens---like a feather boa wand toy (like this).
That's so strange haha. My cats tend to eat dead bugs, but never roll around on them first I guess your cat just really enjoys the dead bug smell??
Nimbus hates ants---that's the one bug he won't eat.
p.s. your kitties have gorgeous eyes.
Good question...I'm not sure haha. My younger cat, Jasper, seems to really like playing in snow and would stay outside pretty late during the winter...so I think some cats do enjoy cold weather.
I think some cats just like being warm when sleeping, but the rest of the time they aren't bothered...
I wandered into a new pet store near me today and they had loads of samples---one of them a little bag of Evolve. I actually just gave it to my kitties and they love it. I read the ingredients and it sounds excellent.
Great advice. I have a bunch of newborn stray kittens living under my shed that I'd like to trap. I'm probably gonna use the water bottle trick.
Cat toys on a long piece of string and pieces of lunch meat are how I lured the last batch of kittens out, though, we ended up keeping those first...
I'm glad this topic was brought up, AttiCat and I agree with everyone else, about waiting until your cat is fixed. Maybe you could ease the cat into enjoying the outdoors, by using a leash for a bit at first.
I have two cats, Jasper is indoor/outdoor (adopted stray), while Nimbus is strictly...
pwahahaha
Anyway, that's cool that you found that stuff for so cheap! I'm a big bargain shopper myself. I used to have one of those water feeder type things, but I got too annoyed having to clean it out everyday.
I didn't realize gravy foods were considered lesser quality? Too bad Nimbus will ONLY eat food with gravy...spoiled brat. I try to balance his diet out by feeding him grain free dry food, though.
Nimbus used to be very good about eating whatever I put in front of him, then he stopped liking "solid" wet foods. Maybe, your cats are more partial to gravy/shredded foods too? Anyway, I finally have a good variety that Nimbus agrees with and I alternate flavors/brands often.
Meow Mix cups...
I did a search on this brand here...but didn't find anything.
Anyhoo, my vet just started stocking a new brand called Before Grain and they gave me a free pound sample today. Anyone have any experience with this brand? It's cheaper than Fromm and the ingredients sound good to me, so I'm...
Nimbus used to love Natural Life wet...but alas...He decided one day that he didn't like "solid" canned foods anymore . The ingredients were great, I wish they would come out with a gravy/shredded mix.
