    scared of the floor?

Does anyone have experience with this? For the last week Gypsy hasn't been herself. I think she may be have an allergic reaction to flea bites, so I'm going to take her to the vet. She won't stop itching and scratching, even though I've given her her flea meds. Today, she started this thing...

    Frustrated with wet food!

My cat is an incredibly picky eater, too. I tried all kinds of "good" wet foods with her and she refused to eat any of them. I don't want her on all dry food, so I go ahead and give her half a can of Fancy Feast everyday. I try to make sure she has a quality dry food, so it balances out.

My cat won't stop ordering me around

A few days have passed now and she's back to her normal talkative self. She isn't "yelling" anymore. The weather has warmed up here in the last couple weeks, and she's been shedding like crazy. Yesterday I found a big hairball. I think maybe her tummy was bothering her or she was constipated...

My cat won't stop ordering me around

Well it's nice to know my cat isn't the only one! I guess I'll invest in some earplugs. If we ever move to a bigger place, I probably will get her a friend, and until then I'll learn new levels of patience.

My cat won't stop ordering me around

I've had Gypsy for over a year. She eats well, uses her litter regularly, and has no health or behavior problems. EXCEPT, she is in a very bad habit of demanding that I come and sit with her wherever she goes, instead of vice versa. She is extremely vocal, and whenever she moves from room...

    Antibiotics and tuna fish

I agree. This was a great suggestion! My cat was giving me such a hard time with the antibiotics. For the last week I've just put two tablespoons of tuna water with a heaping spoonful of wet food and medicine. She laps it up and I don't have to deal with any more of her "silent treatment"!

Do your indoor cats wear collars? Why or why not?

I tried keeping Gypsy in a collar for a while, till one day I came home from work and she had lodged her paw between the straps that make the collar tighten. It was a breakaway collar, but it didn't breakaway and she could have had major trouble breathing if it had been any tighter. She's...

    Harriet = Alarm Clock

Gypsy literally walks back and forth across my chest at 6 am sharp. I've learned to completely ignore her and not get out of bed till she settles down. After a few minutes, if I don't pay attention, she gives up. I did have to resort to the dreaded squirt bottle once. She had gotten into...

What Do You Feed Your Kitties?

My cat eats about 1/2 cup of dry Science Diet during the day and half of a small can of Fancy Feast at night. (With the Fancy Feast, it's more just her licking the gravy and leaving tiny bits of dry meat everywhere.)

Fancy Feast Addiction and other questions

My kitty likes Tuna or Turkey "Marinated Morsels" of Fancy Feast. Her favorite wet food is actually the FF Medleys, but I discovered she's allergic to that particular kind. She has huge itching and scratching fits if she eats it. The regular FF seems to be fine for her. She eats dry Science...

need help for trip to the vet

It's actually a little ways out of town. I took her to All About Pets in Union City. We were familiar with the vets, as they took great care of our dog before he passed away. I was going to try to find one closer, but it's too hard to just pick a name out of a phone book. They are very...

    Oral surgery advice?

My poor kitty cat has been sick and I didn't even know it! She is 2, but I've only had her for the last 8 months. A couple months ago she yawned, and I noticed that one of her canines was missing. She has never missed a meal, she plays with toys in her mouth, she has never "seemed sick". I...

need help for trip to the vet

I just wanted to give an update. Gypsy successfully got to the vet. I bought a small dog carrier that is quite a bit bigger then her cat carrier. I put a little treat in there, she wandered in, and I shut the door. I felt guilty, but there was no fuss. Unfortunately, I have to take her back...

need help for trip to the vet

Thanks for the suggestions. The one about a bigger cage clicked with me. She really hates being confined and the cat carrier I have is very small. I have an old dog crate. I think I'll clean it up and let her explore that one. That way, even if she has an accident, she'll have more space to...

need help for trip to the vet

I adopted Gypsy six months ago from a rescue organization. She is my first cat, so I'm still figuring her out. She is super sweet, but terribly shy. I made an appointment for her to get a checkup because she's been scratching herself a lot lately and I noticed one of her canine teeth is...
