I prefer avoiding pre-ground meat to control the amount of fat my cat is getting. I hope costco puts meat on sale so I can grab as much as possible and hopefully save few dollars.
Looking at the cost of homemade food, I wonder how the quality of the store bought food will be affected. Sure they...
Thanks for the link. I looked around in the supermarkets close by and they all have the same pricing unless I buy something that is close to the consumption date which I wouldn’t do. I’m cutting cost by feeding pork. I wish I can find turkey for the same price as chicken or beef but it’s...
I was watching a youtube video for a homemade recipe. The recipe is exactly the same as the one in Dr Becker's book.
I noticed that the label says 1.29$/lb which makes it a bit less than 4CAD/kg.
I get my chicken from costco and pay 16$/kg but it's boneless and skinless. Even tho it comes...
yes, I am using pork instead of turkey to cut cost. Turkey is way too expensive plus it doesn't come boneless which will give me more work. I am buying beef and chicken at around 16$/kg but pork is sold at 7$/kg.
Someone else suggested the spreadsheet but I wasn't wiling to buy it yet since I...
I am a bit confused about the part where she talks about the different kinds of meat. I am currently feeding my cat beef and chicken but i am trying to cut cost by introducing porc.
In the section about the meats, she mentions that for other types of meat, you need to use the second recipe for...
Hey, my cat fully recovered. It was all caused by stress. The only thing that helped was painkillers every 8 hours for around 15 days then I started reducing the dose very slowly. I also gave him d mannose and cornsilk extract.
Hope your cat is doing well!
hi, sorry for not replying. So many things have been happening that I didn't have the time to reply.
Shiva, the cat, is doing great. We went through a lot to get him to eat. The only thing that worked is two meals a day with a big gap between them. The first meal is at around 10 and the second...
I read that the pate texture is not good for the teeth for I started cutting them in small pieces. I found a good workflow so I will share it with you but not sure if that is something you have the time to do.
So I start by cutting the meats into small pieces and freezing them into ice cubes. I...
I did feed him fancy feast last week. He enjoyed eating it but he refused to eat it this week. I had 3 different kinds of fancy feast which he enjoyed but he stopped eating them as of Monday. So, I went and got him a different brand Oven Baked with options Rabbit, Duck and turkey. He refused to...
I started feeding him 1 cup but I noticed that it’s way too much food for him so I dropped it to 3/4 of a cup. Last week he was getting between 3/4 and 1 cup a day but since Monday he hasn’t had 3/4 cup in 2 days. A friend suggested to cook the meat and stop offering raw in case he is refusing...
Freshly caught mice from their warehouses lol! I would feed an entire mouse but it has to be from a pet store. I know that raw food has stricter rules and get tested way more than kibbles and pate. So I assume if it's being sold at a pet store, it should be fine to consume.
I base myself on the fact that he needs 1 cup of food a day. When he was on dry food, he will eat all his portion so I'm assuming this should be the same if he is on raw or cooked food.
i'm gonna toughen it up with him but I won't put him in a kennel. He had UTI from stress and I won't put him back into a stressful position. Will see by tomorrow how things progress.
