I tried the tin foil trick on my suede dining chairs b/c he would climb up them and chew at them, but that didn't work ... needless to say they are ruined now.
I just don't want him jumping up at the stove when I'm cooking or up on the counters when I'm preparing food ... or just knocking...
Hi all!
So my cat has learned to jump up on the kitchen counters and on to the stove, which I am not happy about. I know cats like to jump onto high places and that there are techniques to train them, but him being home alone all day, he pretty much does anything he wants ... and I'm not sure...
Okay so I tried the tinfoil trick last night ... I covered the backs of my chairs with tinfoil last night. This morning I woke up to find the tin foil on the floor and he was playing with it ....... I have a rebel on my hands, and I don't know what to do with him!

He has a scratching post, which he uses when he needs to ... my couches are fine .. it's my dining chairs he's taken a liking to. He climbs up them (they're all suede) and sits on top of the table chewing at them ... they're full of his nail and teeth marks. I need to get him permanently away...
Well, I'm having the same issue with my cat. I tried the water bottle, works at the time, but not long-term ... I tried the clapping loudly, same effect! Now I'm left with my ruined suede parson's chairs (which I have to slip cover ... but I'm sure he'll just chew on that too!) HELP!
My kitten is very sensitive about his back paws too ... he doesn't let me touch them. I actually clipped his front paws for the first time this weeked .. while he was down and sleepy. I just kept petting his paws and talking softly to him. It was a bit challenging though ...
Anyone else's kitten takes a run at a closed door repeatedly?? My cat runs across the room and slams into the bathroom door once, twice, some times three times in a row. I'm almost afraid he's gonna get a concussion or a broken rib or something! What's up with that??

Hi there!
My Vader is just about 5 months old and I still don't let him sleep in my room ... simply b/c he doesn't sleep!! Well, at least when I want to sleep. I live in a one-bedroom apartment, so he gets free range of the place except the bedroom. The first couple of nights after I got him...
Isn't there something to keep him away from the tree completely?? The ornaments are unbreakable, but having them plop onto the floor while i'm trying to sleep (i have hardwood floors) is not fun!!!

Okay, so I've bought my first Christmas tree and began putting up the ornaments ...... now I just need some help keeping Vader away from it. He's even climbed up the trunk of the tree I'm trying the water bottle thing ... but I don't want to come home from work tomorrow and find my tree on the...
Thanks guys!
In response to the toilet lid ... it's always closed as is the bathroom door. I don't let him in there unless I'm in there cleaning up, doing my make-up, brushing my teeth.
I'll try keeping the bowl away from the food.
I also give him cat milk every couple of days or so ...
Hello
My kitten doesn't seem to be drinking a lot of water. I put fresh water out for him everyday, but he's not too keen about it. I've tried tap water and filtered water, same response. How much water are they suppose to drink anyways?
Magda
I actually got my anwser by doing a search of other posts ....
I just took him to the vet last Wednesday and she gave him a pill for deworming, so I'm guessing that's been dealt with ... I'm left to assume that he just has some poop still stuck to his fur .... b/c he doesn't do it all the...
