thanks, Dr Doolittle. As you are a vet tech, do you have any other theories, based on your experience?
(fyi, i spent 12 years in Ontario! Expo '86 in Vancouver was fantastic.)
thanks, Sharky. fyi, his eyes are also glassy, look strange and sunken. Not eating other than the little bit of licking off my finger of babyfood and 9 lives liver and bacon.
Hi all,
I've posted anew, to move to top of forum. Please, if anyone has more insight or suggestions, I'm ready. The latest on my boy:
2nd opinion yesterday, xray shows fluid, ground glass effect in abdomen, chest/lungs clear. WBC, MONO, NEU, EOS AND BASO ALL HIGH.
HCT, RBC, HGB AND PLT...
re the blood smear, i know she checked for parasites (hemobartenella), negative...what else would be determined?
re the antivirals...sorry, can you elaborate?
other than rbc being low, which had improved at next lab. vet tried to remain positive, stated anemia better, slight weight gain (only 1/2 lb though). she is stymied, has now told me we have 2 options: force feed/monitor while boarding until sunday, then run next lab as planned...if WBC has...
my 15 yr old maine coon is suffering from a WBC count of 43k (steadily climbing with each trip back to vet), inappetance, lethargic, not drinking water. he is on baytril, cypro, clavamox. has just come back from vet, having quick/mild sedation for scope down throat, nothing found in...
Hi All,
My 13 yr old Maine Coon has been diagnosed w/diabetes 2 mos ago. We are having a terrible time regulating him , he's currently on 8units bid Humulin N NPH. My former vet (unfortunately I had moved away) is very optimistic about experimental use of Lantus on cats at her clinic, which...
Annie777,

http://www.petsmart.com/articles/article%5F843.shtml *it suggests blowing on your cat's face to "startle" him/her after giving the pill which causes them to instinctively swallow, can't hurt!
Mine too, "spit and sputter" when I try to give pills. It is extremely difficult & adds to stress levels for all! I suspect ours have a combination of UTI and behavioral problems, as this "peeing" problem has developed during the last yr, since we moved into a different home. Unfortunately...
My 2 kitties (16 yr old female, 12 yr old male, both neutered)have developed "peeing problems", are currently being boarded and are on antibiotics for UTI's. I am reluctant to bring them home until this is resolved, and miss them terribly. My vet has suggested Paxil, but has stressed there are...
