    It doesn't seem related to doors or windows to be honest. Their claws are all intact, pretty sure it's illegal to declaw cats in the UK. The pad in the litter tray is good idea, I'll definitely give that a go! And you may be right, I have tried many but do tend to opt for the paper based ones...

    Sorry forgot to add, they're all male and they're all neutered. They generally get on very well, Riley is a bit like a stereptypical tom - big, nonchalant and a little grumpy but he's very passive. Marley and Orion are brothers and adore each other.

    I should maybe add that marley is pretty much mute, he rarely makes a sound, which is why the meowing concerns me. He also tends to pull away and just seems a little uncomfortable. Maybe its just because i'm touching the area above his bum haha!
