    Rat babies!

Will you be adopting/keeping them in pairs? I have never had to deal with mites, but someone I knew had to and found this website to be helpful: http://purplekatkritters.tripod.com/mites.html

    Ireland!!

I would love to go to Ireland some day, sooo jealous. I was suppose to go and stay for 6 months, if I liked it hopefully go back to school. Unfortunately, I am not sure how I feel about leaving the dogs and cats for 6 months, and if I decide to move there, not sure how I would feel about...

    How did you...

My stepdad fostered for a shelter and we would have up to 10 at any given time (bottle babies, strays, etc.), his preference were the big black tomcats (or any black, black/white, cat for that matter). When I turned 12 they stopped fostering and I haven't had a cat since. I was never a cat...

    California - Here I come!

You'll love it! I was born and raised in southern California, currently in GA, but will hopefully move back in the next few months (there or New York - GA just isn't me).

    not cat related but dog

I'm not sure if there is anyone out there that could foster him during that time (and not sure if I would trust anyone - to many horror stories of the people moving or not giving the pet back), and I am not sure if a rescue would would take him in and use one of their foster homes (I don't know...

    A walking/socialization question........

I had a dog-aggressive foster who would bark, lunge, and growl at any dog that was in site. If they were off leash I had to tell them to go away and shoo them off before they even got within a few feet of us, and dogs that were on leash I had to walk on the other side and stand there...

Did you change your cat's name when you brought them home?

Thurman was Pewter, Morris was Morris. They were owner surrenders at the shelter, so the shelter kept their names. I normally rename all my pets, I feel like its a second chance/life and its a chance for them to have a fresh start. Thurman and Morris were both very well cared for, it was...

    Rat babies!

I would adopt them out in pairs. Rats are extremely social and enjoy the company of their own kind. Perhaps contact small animal rescues (let me know if you need helping finding one) to courtesy list them? What size tank do you use (I am assuming glass aquariums)? Looking forward to...

    Newbie...

Just wanted to introduce myself and the cats. I am owned by Morris and Thurman, in addition to three dogs. Morris and Thurman were adopted from a local kill shelter (that, unfortunately still uses the gas chamber), they were owner surrenders. I still can't see why their owners gave them up. I am...

    De-Barking a dog???

I first want to say thank you for doing research on the breeds your interested in I would try getting in touch with purebred rescues, normally they have a lot of information to offer as they really try to learn all they can, have had the breed for a long time, etc. Puppy mills/BYBs often...
