My sister's new 9wk old kitten constantly puts his mouth onto ours... very persistent... First question is what is this behavior mimicking? second is how to discourage it?

My cats have had FUS (feline uremic syndrome) and bladder infections.. this is often exhibited by change in litter box habits.. FUS causes crystals in the urine and is kind of like kidney stones.. irritates the bladder and can cause blockage.. That and infection are diagnosed with a simple urine...

This is a good example of cats' uncanny ability to find the single most important spot in the house and perch themselves upon it... I think they understand our speech, and knew that the discussion made it clear where the priority place now is.... My grad school professor wrote her dissertation...

My sister got a new kitten, now 9 wks old. He constantly tries to kiss/lick your mouth when he is held.... He is persistent. What behavior is this mimicking (I am thinking it is like a nursing or smelling thing) and how can we discourage it?
