Recognise each other after 2 weeks?

The 4 month old kitten I was fostering has been returned by the couple who had adopted her 2 weeks ago. When she was brought in, there was a brief moment of confusion where she managed to have the run of the house, and zoomed from the hallway to the kitchen and then to the enclosed balcony...

    Isolate post-spay?

Thanks! My concern is that their wrestling matches - which she almost always initiates - might lead to her wound opening up.

    Isolate post-spay?

My kitten was spayed yesterday, and the minute she got home, she immediately used the litter box, ate, and went about doing her kitten business around home. Her vet recommended keeping her isolating her from my older kitten (9mo, neutered) for a week, but I'm concerned about the amount of...

Introducing kitten to the outside world.

..hadn't you posted a few days about the kitten being "possibly raped" after she managed to slip out of the house?''

    Safe to introduce?

Yes, thanks! The resident kitten hasn't shown any signs of aggression, but loves to follow her around and observe her. Sometimes he'll attempt to pounce on her back. The foster kitten has gone from hissing whenever she sees him, to mostly going about her kitten business. How can I tell when...

    Safe to introduce?

I'm currently fostering a 12-week old kitten whose had her health check (and was cleared), but her vaccination is scheduled for another week or so. Would it be safe to introduce her to my resident 8 month old?  ETA: She was found in a cardboard box in a street, and was quite scrawny.

    Kitten Biting Problem

Oh, and another thing our kittens have in common: both were removed from their mother and litter mates to early :( I unfortunately didn't know better at the time Kittens need to stay with their mother for about 12 weeks in order to learn proper socialisation skills, and removing them too early...

    Kitten Biting Problem

My current 6 month old kitten was just as crazy when he was younger! He'll still occasionally pounce at wiggling toes or at ankles, but he had calmed down significantly when he hit 5 months.  Since paper balls are his favourite toy, I made sure to always have a few stuffed in my pocket, and...

    Finicky 5mo

Sorry, I phrased my self incorrectly. What I meant to ask was whether I shouldn't be concerned that he is eating less than the guidelines, given that he is an active kitty, with a pretty much healthy weight. He's been finicky about food since I got him, and I've been trying things like...

    Finicky 5mo

I've already tried topping up his wet food with his favourite treats, cheese, chicken, beef, tuna, and even olives and pita bread (for some reasons he loves pita bread), but it hasn't really worked. For the past two days I've set down some frozen food for him before I leave for work, and before...

    Finicky 5mo

Lately it seems that the amount of cat food I'm chucking away is more than the amount my kitten eats. This AM I've opened a can of Ziwipeak (which I was hoping he'd eat), can of Friskies, pouch of Felix and finally a pouch of Royal Canin, but he'd simply nibble and walk away. In the end I just...

    Will he be fine?

Thanks for your responses! After giving it some thought, I've decided to foster a cat and see how it goes. If both settle in well, I'll be adopting it.  Any recommendations on gender, age, etc?

    Will he be fine?

Definitely plan on taking kitty home with me, but relocating one cat seems to be expensive enough, let alone two!

    Will he be fine?

When I adopted my now 5 month old kitten, I was advised to adopt one of his littermates so they'd keep each other company, but I was worried about the costs involved. Not just in terms of food, vet bills, litter, etc, but also relocating costs when it's finally time to leave the country.  But...
