Freaking out over potential Felv risk!

I did a very stupid thing, and now I am massively freaking out, and I need some advice from all of you cat pros. 2 weeks ago I brought in my little outdoor stray that I have been feeding for like two years. I had him neutered and flea/ticked/tape worm treated, but that was pretty much it...

Seeking Advice Regarding Neighbors Barn Cat

He actually is quite a chunky monkey, and he can get to his barn by cutting through the woods...it takes no time at all to get there....maybe 5 minutes tops if going at a good clip. I don't doubt that he goes back there every night to sleep. I keep my garage open and have food in there as well...

Seeking Advice Regarding Neighbors Barn Cat

So, about a year and a half ago, I started feeding a cat. He showed up at the same time one of my cats got outside, and I was putting food out trying to lure him back.  For a year and a half, I would put food out for him, and he would come up on the doorstep to eat it, but the second I would...

No Interest In Wet Food - Should I Be Concerned?

Thanks for the advice and sorry for the delay in response. I had already had an appt booked for him at the vet, before this started, just for his yearly checkup. She took his temperature (which was normal) and everything else seemed fine. She said he was down a pound from his last visit, and...

No Interest In Wet Food - Should I Be Concerned?

Hi all! I did a search of this very topic on your forum, and although I found some very informative information, i still have a few questions.  I have 3 cats, who I've had for 3 years now, and since day one, I've fed them 1/3 of a 5 oz can of wet food twice daily, with some dry food mixed in...

Stray Cat Only Wants to Pee Outside

He absolutely refused to use his box until took him to get neutered. After that, I kept him confined to just one room ( so he wouldnt run around too much after the surgery) and he just went on his own. No messes as of yet. I guess he just needed to do it on his own terms. lol. I hope you also...

Stray Cat Only Wants to Pee Outside

Sorry for not updating! The little guy is now neutered and living at my house. He has successfully used the box multiple times! Yay! He still meows to get outside quite a bit (and I do let him out but with my supervision) but i would prefer for him to be an indoor only kitty! Thanks everyone for...

Stray Cat Only Wants to Pee Outside

No, that's the thing...I have no clue where he goes when he's outside. He doesn't seem in any particular pain when he's around, and when i do let him outside, it's not like he runs off like he's been holding it in all night. He'll sit around with me while I pat him and then he'll just casually...

Stray Cat Only Wants to Pee Outside

Good suggestions! Thanks. I tried a deeper box last night and put soil over top of a little bit of litter. I checked on him this morning @ around 6:30 AM  and still no pee/poop. That was like 18 hours he was inside without using the box. That's dangerous isn't it? He's outside now. Like you...

Stray Cat Only Wants to Pee Outside

Hi. So a few weeks ago a little all black cat showed up on my doorstep. He is an un-neutered male and although he could belong to someone... I'm pretty sure he doesn't. He pretty much hangs around the neighborhood during the day, but I've brought him inside for a couple nights. Every morning...

Shelter Kitten Might Be Put Down Due to Diarrhea Issue

Hey everyone. I'm a volunteer at my local animal shelter, and this weekend when I went in for my shift, I met a little kitten named Mew. She's about 3-4 months old if I had to guess, and she's just the cutest thing ever. Later on, I overheard some of the staff mention that she may need to be...
