    Cat sprayed on mattress

Thanks for your response, Robert. After posting here, I did some research and yes, you're right, spraying is not the proper term. Regardless, the odor is awful. Makes me realize just how good of a job their litter does to control odor since I've never experienced the odor permeating so much...

    Cat sprayed on mattress

I have 2 male cats (neutered) at home, both just over 1 yr old and I've had them for about 6 months. Up to now, I haven't really had any alarming behavioural issues but yesterday, one of them sprayed on my bed. I'm pretty sure it's spray and not pee because the scent seems to be permeating the...

We got the Swheat Scoop Litter

I used Swheat Scoop for a while but switched to WBCL because I hate the way SS sticks to the litterbox. WBCL is definitely more expensive though. I've thought about mixing the two to see if it would help the sticking issue while lowering the cost a bit from using only WBCL. I have 2 cats and...

    Bags, bags bags

My previous cat used to love sitting on paper and whatnot. It was amusing how he would sit perfectly on a piece of paper with none of him hanging over the edge. My cats now don't have that same behavior but they do like to play with plastic bags. I wonder if it's the crinkling sound. I have a...

    Hair EVERYWHERE....

I've surrendered as well. I have 2 cats, one of which is a DMH which only occasionally lets me comb him. So yeah, fur everywhere. I vacuum once a week and use a lint roller on furniture, clothes. Heck, I have pretty long hair also, so between me and the two cats it's a losing battle.

    Cats destroying carpet

I'll still give the spray a try and hope for the best. I know for sure they bite at the little plastic because I saw them do that a few times in my spare bedroom where the carpet is coming away from the wall. One cat has his claws trimmed but the other will not let me handle him so I'm not able...

    Cats destroying carpet

I've never heard of bitter apple. Is that available at Petsmart/Petco? I'll definitely give it a try. Aside from my carpet getting chewed up I'm also worried that they're eating the plastic. I'm surprised, and grateful, neither of them have thrown any of it up yet.

    Cats destroying carpet

One or both of my cats are tearing up my carpet. I keep finding little pieces everywhere. They never do it when I'm around so I can't really discipline them against it, but I really need to put an end to it. What they are doing is where the carpet goes around a door frame, they're finding...

Can my cat learn to like cuddles more?

One of my boys, Pierre, is anti-cuddly. I've only had him since Dec so I'm sure he's still trying to figure me out. I made a little progress in that I was able to pet him as I was giving him food or maybe get a couple scratches in while I'm playing with him. But now, the only time I can pet him...

    laser pointer

My cats also go nuts over the laser pointer. They'll come running if they even think I've picked it up and start looking around for the red dot. They get bored after a while if I aim it towards the wall. They'll try to catch it on the wall for a little while then just sit there and watch it...

    Storing wet food

How long can you store opened wet food? I'm trying to get my 2 cats off Fancy Feast and have been mixing it with better wet food. At most, I can do a 50/50 mix. Any more and they turn their noses up at it. Hopefully that will change soon. Right now I wrap the opened cans in plastic wrap and...

How to keep my floor clean from Litter Boxes?

I have been using Swheat Scoop but making the switch to World's Best since SS cements to the box. I have a covered litter box but Pierre kicks his litter around a lot so it ends up all over the floor. I don't think there would be any litter left in the box if it wasn't covered. I use one of...

Grooming cat-doesn't like to be handled

Thanks for your replies. Taking him to a groomer is sort of a last resort option right now only because it's very difficult to catch him. I think the entire experience would stress him too much. Maybe when it's time to take him to the vet I'll have him groomed also. I had an incident with him...

Grooming cat-doesn't like to be handled

My Pierre has beautiful medium length fur. I think he may be part Maine Coon. My problem is that he HATES to be handled. The only times I'm ever able to pet him is when I'm giving him his wet food or at night when he's sleeping on the bed with me. But even then, he's somewhat skittish and runs...

How to get my cats off the crack??

Yes, I am also feeding them dry. Right now they're getting a mix of Nutro Max Cat and Natural Balance. The NB alone gives Pierre diarrhea so once this bag's gone I don't plan on getting more NB. I do plan to try other quality dry foods. The foster home they came from fed them Friskies (which...
