    Chasing his tail=neurological?

Well, he's stopped doing it, so I guess it was no big deal. Thanks for all the feedback!

    Chasing his tail=neurological?

This morning my 5-year old, neutered boy, Hardy, started spinning around, chasing his tail for about 3 or 4 minutes, before flopping down and just looking back at his tail. I tried to distract him with treats, affection, toys, and he just kept doing this routine for a good 1-2 hours. He's...

    Toilet Drinking

My boys, Hardy and Homer, love to jump into the tub after I've showered and lick up the droplets...bizarre, I guess, but harmless. They also drink out of their water bowl, so I'm not too concerned. Cats sure do some wacky things. I'm constantly amused by them.

    A Question

I've often wondered why Homer often did that after eating...it's just one of the wacky things I've caught him doing!! Thanks for the info, now I know he's not that crazy!

    Help!

Your story is so similar to mine w/ Hardy and Homer! We bottle-fed for a week or so and then gradually added some canned food to the milk mixture to get them acclimated to the taste. Eventually, we put the canned food w/ a little milk on our fingers and they would lick it off. Next, we would...

    KItty toys

Hardy and Homer are crazy for the laser pointer. They chase it all over the room and I can just sit there on the sofa. They also like the feather-on-a-stick toy, which you can get interchangeable toys for when they're bored with the feather. Thirdly, I'd recommend a handful of the little fur...

    Question about declawing

Please don't declaw!!! We clip our boys' claws every week our so and provide them with a scratching post and we have no problems!! Like someone said, furniture or rugs can be replaced, but putting your kitties through that pain is NOT worth it!

How did Kitty get it's name???

My husband is a fan of this weird band called The Residents. Their two founding members are named Hardy Fox and Homer ?. They never show their faces onstage, but wear giant eyeballs on their heads. Our two boys have vaguely eyeball-like markings on their heads...hence their monikers.

    Males vs Females

I am completely biased, but I have two males (brothers) and I cannot imagine two sweeter, more affectionate kitties. They follow me around the house (even to the bathroom), sleep as close to me as possible and run to the door to greet me when I come home. I don't know if it's just their...

    On neutering

I have two boys (brothers) who were neutered at around 6 mos. We have had NO problems. They are sweet, loving and gentle boys. On the other hand, a friend has neglected to have her boy neutered and is now experiencing all the bad behaviors: spraying, etc. Plus, don't forget there are so many...

    New here...

Thanks for the info. on hairballs. They aren't a problem yet. My Hardy (1 yr. old) just had his first one. It freaked him out at the time, but he's fine now. My boys are shorthairs, so with a daily grooming, I'm hoping hairballs will be a rare occurance. This board is such a great source. I've...

Are Laser Pointers OK for cats?

My mother-in-law told me that the cats go "crazy" looking for the red dot when you're not playing with it...Does anyone have any insight on whether these are harmful? My boys, Hardy and Homer, sure love chasing it around. And it's easy for me, too!

    New here...

I just found this site and registered. I was looking up info on hairballs of all things because my 1 yr old, Hardy, had his first one this morning. Joy. Hardy's brother is Homer. My husband and I found them plus 3 others last year in a box at work. Good news--Mom and others were all adopted...
