    My neighbor has 2 small chiwahwahs (spelling is incorrect, I know).  The family left to go to Miami, FL from Tampa, FL on a Friday @7:30 pm and returned @ 8:30 pm on Monday!  The dogs were left alone, no human contact, no moving air, no windows to look out of.  I was told they had plenty of food...
