Advice on finding a home for a feral cat we've taken in

This is all great advice. I had never thought of a vet reference but its a good idea. We have tried feelaway in the past when integrating a new cat and were dissapointed but will look into those other options. What are "composure treats"?

We had a similar situation and the advice we got was to get a second cat of similar age as the kitten so they could play together.  Sounds crazy, but worked great (see Mr. Lahey and Randy below, 2 days after meeting).  They played together and largely left our older cat alone.

Advice on finding a home for a feral cat we've taken in

Hello everyone:    We took Bernice in a month ago - she was a semi-feral who has been bitten by a dog at least twice and needed surgery (see her, below).  We got her surgery, installed her in a room of her own, have litterbox trained her, and fattened her up.  She lets us pet her on the head...

Advice on caring for a injured "feral"/feral-ish cart

Well, the price was shocking but it beats Bernice pooping on one of our bath towels!

We got that cat attract litter and changed location of the litterbox and it seems to be working. Bernice is coming out of her shell slowly, and her vet check-up went great. Thank you all for the advice And support! It was so valuable!

Advice on caring for a injured "feral"/feral-ish cart

She has been pooping on the towel where she sleeps in room #1. Today she moved over to room #3 and was laying next to the litter box so I hope she figures that out. We did put dirt in there and poop from when she pooped on the towel. We will try some of that cat attract stuff this weekend...

Advice on caring for a injured "feral"/feral-ish cart

Progress today. She pooped where she sleeps (as she's done before) in the small "room" on the right. However instead of stayng there she moved to the far end of the "room" on the left (the big one). Its the first time we've seen her move!

That's the side we're on now - that this is better. It's so hard with animals to always know what's best. Thanks for your input.

Advice on caring for a injured "feral"/feral-ish cart

Thank you all so much for the advice and kind words!    Below is a picture of "Bernice".  We are going to try to find her a home through Facebook and friends, so wish me luck.  She still seems terrified of us, but I am hoping that she will adapt as she feels better.  Her wounds are still quite...
