Thanks again to everyone... So I called the shelter to see if they had any more history on the guy, and they didn't have record of him acting weird.. I have played with him quite a bit with a long string attached to a stick. I'm wondering if he still associates this play with playing...

Thanks for the insight.. I woke up this AM, and he was sleeping on my bed. I went to pet his head and he immediately went to the biting/pawing/purring combo. so I just tried to go back to sleep.. sigh.. -Lun
