    Healing from medically necessary declawing

ExquisiCat, which I think is PetSmart's private label, makes pellet-style litter that we switched our litter box to after Yesterday's News was discontinued, and our cat seemed to adjust to it just fine. It's actually a bit cheaper than Yesterday's News, too.

    My kitty woes

First and foremost, I'm so sorry to hear about Tempest. I can't speak to whether or not the food might be the cause, but I have heard that cats losing their cohabitants can lose their appetite, act lethargic, become more needy, etc., because they're basically mourning their friends. Is it...

    Stomach goes gargle

Has she been using her litter box with regular frequency? Gurgling sounds have been identified as a sign of constipation, which is a lot more common in cats than I would've ever guessed.

Very worried about my cat (6 years old, female, indoor domestic shorthair)

Definitely a good point. I guess this place qualifies as a 24/7 animal hospital with ER capabilities, so she wasn't really seen in the ER so much as she was taken care of by a rotating set of vets and vet assistants over the course of two days while she was receiving inpatient care there. I...

Crappy News at wellness exam today :(

I don't have any advice to share, but I wanted to send a virtual hug to you and your sweet animal friends. No matter what happens next, thank you for being a loving, caring presence in Nobel's life.

Very worried about my cat (6 years old, female, indoor domestic shorthair)

Update on our sweet kitty. She spent two nights in the hospital getting repeated enemas, fluids and examinations because X-rays showed she was full of poop and wasn't using the litter box to get rid of it. The vets were able to effectively clean her out and put her on a mix of probiotics...

Cat losing appetite and seem tired

Any other changes to note with his water intake, litter box usage, etc.?

    Squiggle/worm in cats eyes?

The only difference between the photos you attached and the one of your cat seems to be that the squiggle just above the bottom of the eyelid appears to be raises above the iris in the eye. To be clear, I'm just basing this off what I can see and my limited understanding of potential eye issues...

    Squiggle/worm in cats eyes?

It's certainly difficult to know for sure, but it definitely looks like some sort of parasite to me. I would definitely get this little guy to the vet for a closer look if you can. Eye parasites do affect animals, but from everything I've read, they are fairly easy to treat. Better to be safe...

Very worried about my cat (6 years old, female, indoor domestic shorthair)

We sent them a picture of the flower and let them know where they were purchased, and they confirmed what we believed it to be.

Very worried about my cat (6 years old, female, indoor domestic shorthair)

Crossing my fingers. She still seems really out of it and is spending a lot of her time in her bed, but it's hard to know if that's from the meds, her still having an upset tummy, or something being really wrong with her.

Very worried about my cat (6 years old, female, indoor domestic shorthair)

It's really tough to know exactly what they were, but I believe they were some type of solidago goldenrod (not the poisonous rayless goldenrod). Other types of goldenrod are supposedly toxic, but this type was expected just to irritate her stomach based on what the ASPCA told me.

Very worried about my cat (6 years old, female, indoor domestic shorthair)

Thanks for asking! Took her to the vet yesterday, and they ran a couple of x-rays that showed she was completely backed up because she hadn't defacated. They believe it was because whatever she ate inflamed her GI tract. They completed an enema and gave me an appetite enhancer, nausea pills and...

Very worried about my cat (6 years old, female, indoor domestic shorthair)

Thanks for your response. She's not really licking her lips too much anymore, and she's eating both wet and dry food sporadically, which signals to me she's not nauseous like she was before. The flowers were tossed immediately after I noticed her nibbling on them and licking her lips, so she...

Very worried about my cat (6 years old, female, indoor domestic shorthair)

Looking for any help and advice I can get. I took my cat (female shorthair in North America about 6 years old) to the animal hospital last night because she started being more lethargic, hiding from me and licking her lips constantly after nibbling on some small flowers around the house (indoor...
