You can try nematodes for your yard. Capstar is suppose to be good for killing fleas.

Thank you all very much. I believe I have enough suggestions here to form a plan. I am a stay at home mom and we do not go on vacations because we have a dog that can only be handled by us. So I have all day everyday with me here, I don't have the hassle of what would I do if I have to be gone.
