update ..................................we have five kittens so far as you know the first three were chewed off the placenta kitten number 4 was born with a placenta she detached it and ate if then kitten number 5 was born and again after a few moments off him hanging out she chewed him off too...
hi I took in another stray ik ik I cant help it its so cold there and when they become visably pregnant I cant stand the thought of kittens freezing to death in the snow well she went in to labor a little bit ago and the first kitten came out but she bite of the cord and dident pass the placenta...

I've had mothers who started to lick away the hair around there nipples very early in pregnancy and I've had mothers who had only a very small loss of hair around there nipples right around birth I believe it all just depends on the cat and maybe the hair type hope this helps I've fostered over...
yes the vet said its not very common but it dose happen her first baby dident survive he may have ben premature and she seemed to lack milk the other two were born on the 18th there happy and healthy gaining weight every day and have there eyes open today hope your kitty delivers her last...
my kitty serena had one kitten on Monday and two kittens on Thursday but if she shows any signs of distress take her in to the vet asap fever heavy panting straining to push seeming lethargic etc....
yesterday at about 5 pm serena gave birth to the remaining two kittens they were large and loud very healthy and came back to back the first kitten she had didn't make it I believe to no fault of his own her milk didn't come in at all until yesterday after his 24 hr mark I started bottle feeding...
Thank you for your reply my little polar bear is defiantly not staying that way he has a tint of brown to the tips of his ears already we are approaching the 24 hr mark since his birth and still no kittens I've been in touch with my vet and he says he will contact me back before his day is done...
