I was bitten rescuing a kitten, desperately need advice.

My dog bit a woman last year.  She reported the incident to the County Animal Services. They came to visit us and the person was very nice and very professional. She quarantined our dog to the house for 10 days. After 10 days she came back.  As we were not at home,  she looked through the window...

The right time to place a feral cat trap.

clynn11 You,re doing sterling work. Congratulations. I didn't go looking for cats . They came to me . Since joining this forum, I realize I could be doing more. I guess I 'll graduate to that level eventually . My temporary signature I'd rather look at a cat than a Kardashian

Spice Attacked His Sister Cleo, or?

Good news . I saw Cleo and Spice spending time together at the edge of the pond. Not rubbing heads but checking out something moving in the water together.

Spice Attacked His Sister Cleo, or?

Thank you so much for that information. This forum is very useful and informative.  Your explanation fits in.  Spice and Cleo used to be inseparable at one time. I suppose the newcomers broke that up and Spice is jealous.   Maybe I need a cat psychologist for my bunch. Fluffy seems to be very...

    Feral Cats Are Our Pets

Thank our for the kind words. I thought it was a good blog. I understand I will have a signature eventually and can add my blog's URL. I am now posting in the Feral Cats forum and I  embedded one of my YOUtube videos.   thus encouraged, I've applied to join a feral cat organization, Brigits...

Creating a cat-safe yard for ferals

We looked after two kittens and their mother until the mother took off for another round of sex and kittens. We could never catch her.  We fed the kittens and I put a cat door in the pool cage to allow them to come and go in the pool area. We had them neutered when they were old enough. They've...

Spice Attacked His Sister Cleo, or?

The big cat, Brutus, shown lying protectively with Cleo at the end of the video  was not the same one that attacked her.  Spice attacked her. However, this morning I saw Spice, the attacker and his sister Cleo together on the dock.  Cleo looked wary.  Hopefully it is going to be alright.

I think I made a slight breakthrough with the feral kittens in my garage :)

Some time ago, I got the idea from horse whisperers that you should use a soft voice talking to animals. I'm glad to have confirmation from you.  I am a man and normally our voices are harsh. I whisper to them.

Spice Attacked His Sister Cleo, or?

Five feral cats live in our pool/patio area in Naples Florida.. All are neutered. We feed them twice a day. They also hunt for food. They are free to come and go through a cat door. We like having them. They are our beautiful moving garden sculptures. Recently I managed to catch on video an...

Tommy was hit by a car tonight

I'm new here. I been posting in the New Cats. I only saw your post last night. So sorry.  I dread that happening to any of my 5 ferals. I have  a suggestion that worked for me. I am hoping Tommy is out there. Tommy may be across the road and has no intention of going near a road again. I...

    Feral Cats Are Our Pets

Thanks for the offer to help.  I looked for a way to set up my signature and couldn't find it. I uploaded a little video to Youtube of mostly photos of the little bird I rescued.  I'll embed the link here as I believe that is acceptable to the moderators.

    Feral Cats Are Our Pets

Thanks for the replies and advice.  I am beginning to understand that I am doing little for feral cats compared with other people like Ritz.  I especially liked the advice about getting prescriptions from friendly vets without visits to the vets. Vets visits are expensive enough for the dog...
