    Possible Abscessed Tooth

Hi all! My almost 21 year old cat Pudden has been losing weight and not eating the best for the past month. I figured it was from the horrible heat of this summer, but she took a turn for the worse on Friday. She started only eating a very little amount and I have to heavily pepper her food...

    Zyrtec

The antihistamines prescribed by vets are all actually made for humans. There really isn't anything on the market for cats or dogs specifically.

    Zyrtec

My cat suffers from severe allergies in the winter that causes her to rub her eyes so bad she develops corneal abrasions. She was put on Chlorpheniramine last year which worked great, but unfortunately caused severe constipation. She would need an enema once a week. Nothing worked to get her...

    Alternative To Fortiflora?

My cat Pudden suffers from chronic constipation and was put on Fortiflora by her vet. Since being put on it and with the help of pumpkin everyday she has been very regular. The problem is the Fortiflora is very expensive. Pudden has a lot of health issues and everything adds up, so I am trying...

    Bad eye issues possible allergies

I just wanted to update. Pudden has been on the antihistamines for 2 weeks now. She is doing well and has not had any new corneal abrasions. The weather has been warmer and the furnace has been low or off all together, so I hope when it gets cold the symptoms won't return. She was tested for...

    Bad eye issues possible allergies

She is seeing her regular vet at the moment. We are going to check for dry eye at the next appt. If there is no improvement under her current vet I will have no choice, but to go to an opthamologist. I am terrified of the cost though. I have heard a specialist appt is $200 just to be seen.

    Bad eye issues possible allergies

My cat has been dealing with eye problems every Fall these past two Autumn seasons. It all started last November when she rubbed her eye and scratched her cornea. She was treated, but continued to have problems where any amount of rubbing, even just marking me with her face resulted in her eye...

    Dry eye genteal eye drops

I have been using GenTeal mild to moderate eye drops for my cat's dry eye. Today when I went to buy more the bottle had on it previously Tears Naturale Forte and the ingredients are different. I bought the moderate and noticed it was different when I got it home and compared the boxes. Does...

    Throw treats out?

Thanks everyone! I already tossed them shortly after posting. I agree it's not worth it.

    Throw treats out?

I have a bizarre question. My mother went to give my cat her new bag of expensive orijen treats and dumped half the bag onto the wet food by accident. Not thinking I picked the treats out of the food and put them back in the bag. Now I am worried the treats are contaminated since wet food needs...

    Something wrong with eyes

From what I have read I agree she doesn't have any of the symptoms of dry eye except the corneal abrasions. From my understanding dry eye is also very rare in cats. I purchased some lysine yesterday and am waiting for it to arrive. I really hope it works and keeps these eye problems at bay...

    Something wrong with eyes

Back in November my cat Pudden started having trouble with here eyes. They would start to tear up as if she poked them and then go back to normal in a few minutes. Then one night she rubbed her left eye which resulted a scratch on her cornea. I took her in and she was given a dye test. The vet...

    Heart murmur

I took her to her regular vet today. She listened for a long time and said there was no murmur. She believes if one was heard it was most likely caused by stress. Pudden has no symptoms and this vet is very skilled so I trust her judgment. I am so relieved!

    Heart murmur

I took my cat Pudden in for a uti and the vet said she heard a murmur. She decribed it as a galopping sound. That same day she was diagnosed with diabetes as well as the uti I suspected. Pudden also suffers from asthma and is on inhaled flovent. When i first took her in for asthma in july the...

    Female cat uti possible blockage?

I have an appt for her in the morning. She peed an almost mormal amount about a half hour ago so at least I know she is not blocked. I hope this next course of antibiotic will cure it. I hate to see her suffering.
