I'm gonna go ahead and let them finish the Royal Canin bag of dry and mix it with my dry (the good stuff) but I won't EVER buy it again. And I do give them canned food as well. I leave dry out while I'm a work but they get a can every night and twice on weekends. I guess that is enough? I...
As some of you may remember, my kitten Newton had to have a feeding tube, due to an awful URI, where he stopped eating, had mouth ulcers, constant fever, etc. He's luckily on the mend now. When he started eating again (dry food) the Vet gave him what they sell in the office, Royal Canin, which I...
Update! Newton got the feeding tube on Thursday. I took him home last night and was supposed to give him his final 2 feedings of the day. It was the hardest thing to try and hold a kitty, comfort it and try to keep it calm, while clamping and unclamping a tube and attaching syringe after syringe...
Dropped him off this morning. I sat with him a while. He sat in my lap, I was petting him, then I started to cry. He looked up at me and patted his paw on my face, as if to say, "don't cry mama, it's gonna be ok." It was the sweetest thing. I'll update later once I hear back. He'll stay...
My mom said to ask the Vet if he's been tested for allergies? Is there a "test" for that? He's still not eating which means he'll have to get the feeding tube tomorrow. But, my concern is, even if he gets the tube, that does NOT mean his URI will go away! I'm gonna put some lysine in his food to...
Oh, I forgot something. I suggest giving Newton baby saline drops in his nostrils to help clear his nose up, but Vet said no to saline drops, but said to pick up some pediatric Afrin, anyone tried this? AND, I am going to purchase a humidifier today. Are humidifiers and vaporizers the same thing?
Took back to Vet today for all day stay. More IVs, fever will not come down. He is on IV antibiotics and fluids. They prescribed him Clamoxin (sp?) once he gets better. They did give him an appetite enhancer yesterday but it has done nothing. His mouth is full of ulcers so I'm sure it's painful...
