The herpes virus can cause mouth ulcers, which are extremely painful. The vet did not see any of these?
Did the vet take blood? A lot of systemic illnesses can cause lack of appetite.
He checked out her teeth? How about an x-ray? There may be a problem that is not visible to him.
I believe my cat has a true celiac condition embedded in her IBD. She can eat corn until it's coming out of her ears, (no pun intended), but I have given her wheat, barley and oatmeal (in wet food!), that has thrown her into a tailspin (again, no pun intended). Corn may be genetically...
Just a note, may not be the issue, but Orbax Oral Suspension is Malt flavored. Malt flavoring, although supposedly "attractive" to cats, is a barley derived flavor. Celiac patients cannot eat it. Maybe the Orbax tabs would be better.
I don't like to try and scare anyone on this issue. However, I just lost my Charlie after suffering for 11 months with oral squamous cell carcinoma. His symptoms were only bad teeth, loss of teeth, inflamed gums. I finally insisted on something further being done after bringing him for one...
I just went through pretty much the exact same thing on November 20 with my Charlie, except for the snowstorm part. Which I have to tell you was a great issue of stress for me, thinking what would I do if there was a snow storm and I couldn't get him to the hospital. I didn't have snow, but I...
I know exactly what you are going through right now. Don't blame yourself for not letting her go sooner. I did the same thing. First and foremost, these "animals" are our children in every sense of the word. They want to be with us too. And we keep them as comfortable as we can for as long...
My Charlie used to have acne on his white chin, very visible. I switched to corning ware plates and ceramic bowls for the cats, and that seemed to clear it up. I did notice that if I served him certain dry foods that appeared "greasy", it would reappear, but not as bad as the first time. I...
My Zoey was 3 1/2 weeks old when we found her. We kept her separated from the other kitties until we were sure she was free from illness and disease. She had her own "suite". She was allowed around my husband, myself and the 2 dogs. What a treasure! When she was finally able to meet Charlie...
It was surprising to me, I went into this tattoo shop in my small town and the artist and his girlfriend both had a portrait of their recently passed dog on them. They also told me that the next appointment was for a guy who had just lost his dog, having a portrait too.
Thank you Laurie, Wow! Lots of info for me to look at. I will visit the links and do some more reading, lots to consider and thankfully, more options than I had thought. I will start a thread on Angel, once I go through everything.
Yes, me too, Barb, how is Toby? And how are you doing?!
I am against rabies vaccines after one of my kitties got sick after getting a "forced" one. The problem I am having is finding a veterinarian in my area that will treat my cats without having been vaccinated against rabies. They are indoor, always have been. I finally found one in my area...
