And this was Banshee who died May 2015 and was 15. She was put to sleep due to cancer and heart disease.  And this is Zonker who died in October 2012 at 20. Don't worry he didn't die from getting his head stuck in a container.  I still miss him a lot. He had a personality on him. 

When it rains, it pours. Gamos died on August 7, 2016. He was 20. Gamos was my baby. I got him as a kitten and had him for 20 years.  And Brand New Caesar (aka Little Kitty) died on Sept 6th, 2016 (He's the kitten in the above picture). He was 11. 

Thanks for all your responses.  Unfortunately we had to put Caesar to sleep on Tuesday. He started getting worse and he wouldn't eat. Our regular vet and the one at the hospital spoke to my husband that he was fading. He wouldn't eat. If he did, we would have taken him home and let him die...

My cat also has kidney disease but he's very old.  Unfortunately as a stray, she could have picked up anything before you got her.  I'm surprised your vet didn't recommend giving your cat subcutaneous fluids. 

Hi Maggie,    I just wanted to let you know that Gamos recovered from his illness as best a 20 year old can. He's eating now and is more alert, but we still have to give him hydration and pills.
