I have no idea what Lily does but I have my computer in the living room so I should turn my webcam on record just to see what she does while I'm gone. Part of me sort of hopes she's sitting on the chair by the door waiting for me but realistically she's probably sleeping on my bed.

It sounds to me like you're anxious, you don't want to mess up raising your cat and you're concerned about what to do. This is a good thing I believe and it sounds to me like you're on the road to having a happy contented kitty.
