I wanted to post this for you all because, shortly after adopting Jezabelle, I consulted the board about some behaviors and received some excellent tips. If you're prefer to read this on my website instead (Not sure how the formatting will turn out,) you can find the post...
Sorry I haven't posted in so long. Between work, some minor health stuff (mostly staph, but nothing I haven't dealt with before,) and allergy issues, I've been kinda bleh.
Buutttt...
Jezabelle's doing so well. I've started opening the door so she can explore (have been for the past few days,)...
I'm still trying to get her used to me touching her. She's becomming accustomed to the petting. I can't do it ALL the time, but she's not cringing away so much.
Oddly enough, she doesn't like catnip. She refuses to touch it, which has made that option a bit... difficult, haha. I sprayed some...
Sorry I haven't updated, guys. Between being busy and not feeling well, I've been a bit out of the loop.
Anyhow... last week, Jez got in bed with me and came RIGHT UP to me. I wasn't sure if she wanted something, and when I asked if she did, she sat down and looked at me. So, tentatively, I...
I was able to pet Jez this morning. Of course, she was sleeping, so when I set my hand on her and she didn't flinch, I didn't realize that, so I got to pet her for three minutes before she woke up, shook her head and I pulled her hand away. She refused to let me touch her the two times I tried...
Well, within a day, she'd crawled up on me, laid on my leg for three minutes, then slept between my legs for about a half-hour, then later got mad at me when I crawled into bed with her and clawed/hissed at me (to which she just got disciplined with a very pissed me, haha.)
Progress is being...
Low and behold, once I move the thing, she started using it, haha.
I'd be happy to trim her claws if she'd allow me to handle her. At this point, she's only just starting to play with me, and I'm fairly certain a vet would have no way to trim her claws unless they knocked her out (which I sadly...
Ok, so... I have a question. Jezabelle's doing fine (she and I are playing together more [finger game] and she's been playing on her own,) but I'm noticing a potentially-bad problem. Her claws. This morning, she dug her claws into the plush lining of her bed and got stuck, then had a hard time...
I had a real breakthrough this morning while I was laying awake trying to go to sleep. She was laying on the dresser beside my bed when I lifted up my hand and she swatted at it -- more in a playful way than anything. So, I thought, why not? and started playing the finger game with her. She...
It's been one month! YAY! <3 Here's a video of her being cute. I missed her playing (which was funny because I saw her fly across the floor at one point,) but she looks cute here too.
