Hello,
I'm wondering if, in the wake of the pet food contamination issues, Natural Balance have changed their formula?
My cat has been on the NB reduced calorie dry formula for over 2 years now - it takes her ages to get through a big bag, so I've only recently needed to buy her a new bag...
Thanks Sakura!
I love the idea of being able to take Tilly to the vets in the familiarity of her own cat bed - she's not a good traveller, so i think it would be less traumatic than her hard-sided carrier.
My main worry is whether i could get her in and zip it up before she escapes!
Would be...
Hello,
I'm thinking of treating my kitty (OK, me) to a meowme sleepy pod for Christmas - does anyone have any experiences of them: good / bad? Especially how easy it is to convert it from bed to carrier? And whether the heated blanket is just a gimmick - or worth having...
Hello,
Just on the panting thing - I got back from a business trip a week ago and my kitty was purring really hard (v pleased to see me!) and then started panting / gasping for air. She'd stop, get down and clam down and then as soon as I went to touch her and she started purring again, she'd...
Hee hee! Every day I grimace through a very painful kneading session because I don't want to re-buff my cat's love and she won't let me clip her claws! I also endure raspy tongue licking on my hands to the point I tell her 'ow' with every lick. Sometimes it's hard being loved by a cat!
I get my...
I think soft claws is a great idea! Also, given you're a multi-cat / animal household, I'd worry if Snowy might be vulnerable and unable to defend herself if she didn't have front claws? Might make her even more insecure.
I thought it might help if i shared my recent breakthrough. Almost a year...
hi there, i've just been looking round the site and found an article about common illnesses which shelter cats get. Mine had a bad UTI just after i adopted her - and I was warned this might mean she got flare ups when stressed... herpes was also mentioned - but the runny eye seems to be key for...
Sorry! The title was a bit melodramatic - I couldn't think how to really describe it! She's not in distress - she's currently stood next to me, making biscuits and rubbing her face against my laptop screen.
It's more, after she'd been purring heavily for 10mins or so (I've just got back from a...
Hello,
I think my kitty may have allergies?? Or maybe it's something else?
She's always been quite a sneezy cat, will do sniff, sniff sneeze quite often, when she's checking out objects around the house...
About 2 weeks ago, she had a cold (brought on by stress, I think - her pet sitter...
I don't feel quite as silly now! I never imagined a furball would look like that! Who decided to call them balls?!
Sounds like I have much to look forward to - sigh! I think Tilly was as surprised as me about what it was and that it had come from her - we live and learn!
I had a male persian cat who would constantly nip at the feet of whoever was feeding him in the morning - didn't matter who it was. We asked our vet about it and he felt it was a play / over-excitment thing rather than agression or something physically wrong.
We never tried to stop it (I can't...
I've just switched to a double toothed comb (with both long teeth and short teeth), works much better than the brush I had before (metal teeth all one length) but kitty doesn't enjoy it as much - although I need to persevere as she's just produced her first hairball!
I bought a soft, fluffy...
Phew! Thank you so much - I had a persian before, so never encountered hairballs - and this is the first time in the year I've had her that Tilly has decided to produce one.
She's in for one long grooming session tonight!
Hello,
I got up this morning to find that Tilly had been sick right next to her food bowls. I thought at first she'd done poos, as they were brown and sausage shaped - but when I cleaned it up, I realised it was sick.
Might this be hairballs - there was defintely hair in there, but not matted...
