Yes Breed can make a difference in any animal. I have Papillons and they are very sensitive to Anestassia. My Vet is Knowledgeable of this Breed and made sure I was aware of this. Each Breed of Dog or Cat have Breed specific problems as well so it is nice to have a Vet that is aware of the Breed...

I'm not a breeder but I would say you should be able to keep the deposit to cover the cost of the care the kitten is getting with you while you are waiting for them to pay.
