    loss of appetite

So last week my 4 year old cat got into some pasta sauce I made with onion and garlic. Thankfully she seemed to have vomited up most of it. Since then, she's still had some episodes of vomiting, but we've been to the vet twice and they've given her fluids and anti-nausea medication. Currently...

Unequal pupils in my 8 month old cat

This happened to my kitten after I was playing with her and accidentally whacked her in the eye with the toy once. She had unequal pupils for about a day and then it normalized. Sometimes with eye trauma people (and I'm assuming cats) can get ciliary spasm where the muscles that control the...

    diarrhea after frontline?

The vet said that if it continues she would consider doing a stool culture, allergy testing, trial of a hydrolyzed diet and starting her on Tylosin powder. Thank you! Yes she has quite the spunky personality

how long for a new food to be accepted?

Yeah she's had 3 separate stool tests in the last several months, all negative for parasites. One microscopic eval just showed lots of gram negative rods so she was treated for bacterial overgrowth previously. I'll try the slow transition and hope she takes to it.

how long for a new food to be accepted?

My 4.5 month old kitten has been on Merrick kitten dry food since I adopted her, but after a vet visit today she's been prescribed the Royal Canin Gastrointestinal High Energy (wet and dry) for some chronic diarrhea problems. She likes the wet, but she has not yet touched the dry food. I've...

    diarrhea after frontline?

Update-- Since Nori has had some chronic, off and on diarrhea issues since I adopted her, the vet decided to put her on a prescription diet today. We are starting Royal Canin gastrointestinal high energy wet and dry, as well as a 1 week course of metronidazole. Here's to hoping no more runny...

    cat litter favorites

Thanks for all the recommendations! Will try one of these with my next litter purchase. Unfortunately, the corn-based and walnut-based ones are out of the question, as my older cat thinks she can eat them

    diarrhea after frontline?

The one they gave me was for any kitten or cat older than 8 weeks and weighing at least 3 lb. My kitten weighs 4.5lb. I'm regretting giving it to her though now that the loose stools have returned. I will call my vet if it doesn't seem to be clearing up by the end of the day tomorrow. thanks!

    cat litter favorites

What is your favorite cat litter? I have yet to find one I am totally happy with. Currently using Fresh Step with Febreze, which is good at controlling odor but still too dusty and I can smell its scent on my cats. I liked Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat multi-cat because it was nearly dust free, but...

    diarrhea after frontline?

Hi everyone. I've been a long-time viewer, first time posting. I have a 4 1/2 month old kitten who has had some chronic diarrhea issues since I adopted her. She's been tested for almost everything infectious at multiple vet visits, and ultimately the vets concluded that she had GI dysbiosis and...
