that looks pretty similar, but why would he lose the hair in the area, also it was under his neck, i have to lift his head just to see it. and his collar covered it before i took it off.

Yes, he goes outdoors, and there is another cat in the neighborhood that he sometimes gets into fights with. The area is swollen up and firm to the touch, he didn't flinch or pull away when I was touching the area either.

I found this on the underside of my cat's neck tonight, it doesn't seem to be causing him much pain, but he is aware of it, he tries to lick it, and tries to scratch, but not too hard, so maybe it is causing some discomfort.  Has anybody seen this, can anybody give some insight? It looks like it...
