After six weeks of getting along, now they are fighting

Hi all, I described the situation in another thread here http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=178822 Basically, I gave a female cat to a friend who already had a male cat. After a few days of hissing/spitting/swatting, they started to coexist peacefully. They even were sort of...

She didn't listen to me, the new cats are together and it's not going well...

Well, after six weeks the new owner now tells me that the cats have begun to fight -- REALLY bad. My cat (the female) took a chunk of flesh out of the male cat's neck. There seemed to be absolutely no reason for this, and they were getting along fine for six weeks!!! What happened? Is there...

    Some cat behavior questions

Hey I think it's great that you are asking all these questions. At least you care enough to ask!! And yes, I'm sure after getting the cat tons of things came up that you wouldn't even have thought of! I thought your post was really cute. By the way, one other question, our cat seems to...

Kitten bites real hard how do i stop her? Also intro resident cat vs Kitten?

Also, the bringing cats back and forth thing probably doesn't help. You're not giving the kitten a chance to get used to the environment. Just switching her back and forth all the time.

    help!!! new cat..

I knew you would say that. What I'm saying is that even if she can't see the dogs, they are there. She knows they are there. They don't have to be in her line of sight. Therefore, change in personality OVERALL. Not just when dogs are around.

She didn't listen to me, the new cats are together and it's not going well...

I think there is hope! She has stopped hissing at the other cat and is even using his litter box (ha ha). She's kind of cold to the new owner though, which surprises me. But I think she'll come around. The other male cat is trying to play with her, but she's not having any of it right now...

    help!!! new cat..

Honestly? I think it's the dogs that are setting her off. The cat that I used to have had a total personality change when other dogs/cats were introduced into the environment. For example, with me, I never EVER EVER heard her hiss. Not once. In fact, I was thinking that perhaps she didn't...

She didn't listen to me, the new cats are together and it's not going well...

awww, really? that makes me feel so much better. as the days go on I will be getting daily progress reports, so we'll see what happens. thanks for your support though, and knowing that its okay sometimes to just put two cats together. yes, of course I will take the baby back if it doesn't...

She didn't listen to me, the new cats are together and it's not going well...

But she won't. That's my point. She just won't separate them. She said that hopefully in a few weeks my cat will "get over it" and they will become friends.

She didn't listen to me, the new cats are together and it's not going well...

So, I was in temporary custody of a cat for someone, and it was my job to find the cat a new home. I brought her to a friend's place where they had no other cat on Saturday (in fact, later they told me they had never had a cat in their lives), but they called me Monday to say the daughter's...

    This cat drinks a lot!

No, there is no weight loss or abnormal eating habits. I did the skin test. To me, it just went back to normal quickly, but how can you tell with all that fur?!!

    This cat drinks a lot!

She eats both. The owner had been feeding her Friskies wet (ugh, I know), and Nutro weight management dry (weight management due to her other fat cat). I mean, how many times should a cat be peeing a day anyway?

    This cat drinks a lot!

Why I said that is because a friend of mine had a cat with diabetes and she said her pee clumps were HUGE and heavy. And no, I don't speak to the owner anymore so can't ask her anything.

    This cat drinks a lot!

This cat I am temporarily taking care of drinks a lot. I know drinking lots of water can be a sign of renal failure, diabetes, etc. But honestly, she seems totally fine except she keeps going to the water bowl! It's not even like she drinks TONS of water, I mean, I checked this morning and it...
