    home alone

My husband and I are going out of town for 3 days next week and leaving our 2 one-year-old cats home alone for the first time! I'm so nervous. The only thing that makes me feel ok, is that we've tried traveling with them earlier in the summer and the commuting was really hard for them. I know...

    adjusting to collars HELP!

thanks.....they've finally stopped trying to bit, lick, or scratch them off. but I hope it lasts! I took the bells off, that was never an option. I got the smallest tags I could find but they still seem to annoy them a bit. Can't blame them. Once we return home from our trip my indoor cats...

which do you think is worse?

Today, my husband and I made last minute vacation plans. We've rented a beach house for 5 days. It is in a quiet and safe community. BUT The inlaws (whom happen to be cat people) are unable to take Jassie and Macy while we're away. I have 2 choices - take them with us or scramble to find...

    playing with food

thanks for the feedback. I do feed her wet food, which is placed on a mat, along with her dry food. This is not a matter of a messy eater, but simply a game that she prefers to play above all the rest. Oh well!

    playing with food

Wow, I just realized how long it has been since my last post, anyhow.....good to be back. Macy, who is almost 1 year old, LOOOOVES to play with her dry food. She picks up a kibble or two with her paw and then bats it around our tiny apartment. She looks so determined and engrossed at these...

    panting out of nowhere!!

Macy has always panted a bit after a lot of running and playing. I had her checked out by the vet, and they reassured me that everything is fine. The past couple of days I've noticed that at times her breathing is very rapid and that she will start panting out of nowhere. I think I should...

    meow meow meow meow

Jassie and Macy are 8 months old. Since we adopted them at 5 weeks old there has been such a huge range of different sounds coming from each of them. I imagine this is how they learn to talk and communicate...BUT... As soon as I think I have figured out what one meow means they introduce a...

    switching litters

    switching litters

Does anyone have suggestions about switching litter brands? I am going from Tidy Cat clay to WBCL....big difference!! I just want to make sure their transition from one to the other is as stress free as possible. Thanks!

    spinning

oh no! I never purposefully make them dizzy! No,no,no!!! Sometimes the Cat dancer gets on the floor and when one end is in Jassie's mouth she'll start chasing the other end....so she ends up going in circles....getting dizzy. I stop her....my husband thinks she'll stop herself . that is why I...

    chew chewy chew chew chew

thanks for your response. Just so you know I don't let her chew on any of those dangerous things mentioned. As soon as she would go for them I put them away. When it became more frequent they were put out of sight for good. thanx again
