My old cat has the worst breath due to poor dental hygene (we're talking years of neglect before my ownership here) anyone ever take their cat to the vet to have the teeth scaled?? He'd have to be put under GA for the procedure, which I'm not entirely comfortable with . Advice??
I can't tell if he knows his actual name, but he understands when I'm calling him, and comes running. Does he recognize that his name is Simba? Who knows, but he understands the tone, length and syllables when I want him to report front and centre.
On a side note, he also understands swearing...
Thanks for your replies!! I couldn't remember the name-littermaid, that's it. You can buy them refurbished (?) on ebay but I would prefer new, simply for the mechanics of it.
When I get my littermaid, I will get the Mega and the tent attachments.
Another question for WLE-do your cats do a lot...
I wanted to ask those with automatic litterboxes if they're worth the $$$. And if you have one, did you buy the tent cover that comes with it?? And is the tent cover worth it?
I am thinking that with the automatic scooper I can get away with one box instead of two, as it will keep it...
I live in a smaller place and I find that when scooping no longer works it's time to change the litter completely. Do you have a litter box with a hood/dome? That may help. All in all, I have to change both litterboxes fully about once a week to keep the place from smelling like animals.
I also have a rabbit, and I use pine or spruce pellets (for woodstoves) and it's 5 bucks for a 40 pound bag for him.
My Cats are much smellier , and I use Johnny Cat scoopable as it's the only one that's sold in my town that combats cat bowels effectively. That's when I can't buy the super...
Hey, we may have a cat from the same litter. (joking) Simba, my boy, was overwhelmingly irritating when I first got him 2 years ago. He has enormous claws, so refusal of lap could result in some serious, tho accidental scarring. It can be irritating. We compromised. I learned to like it, and...
This is a pretty prolific board, and I can't search to find my previous posts-can the searches for specific posts be enabled so I don't have to keep posting new threads for my particular situation??
You don't have to respect it, or them-just maybe acknowledge that it is really the lesser of the two evils.
(None of my animals are declawed, or docked, or cropped)
Ha ha!! Love that picture!! My big guy will literally knock food out of my hand if I don't pay attention. Even fruit. He won't eat it, of course, when he realizes what it is but until that point he thinks it must be tasty if I'm eating it. I try not to give him food directly from my hand because...
