Just wanted to update and add two cents to the pool of experience shared on this site. Bobbie-Finn went to the vet, who found 'possible' evidence of a post-concussion. Apparently, she had hit her head, but it isn't known if it was simultaneous with the seizure or if she already had a concussion...
Hi. My adoptable kitten Bobbie-Finn had a seizure last night. Nothing seemed to lead up to it, and the research I've done all said there were three stages, which included the aura stage. She didn't show any of this. My brother was playing with her, her brother, and my dog in the kitchen with a...
Thanks. I've been feeding them the Friskies. I tried giving them Evo, figuring it might be a good thing to give them once a week, and they really didn't care for it... weirdo kitty cats! I was ecstatic about it's label, too!
It sounds like she is nervous about leaving the kitten out in the open. Can you give her a more private nesting area that she would be more secure leaving her kitten in? If you just got her a little while ago, she just may be a little on-edge herself and that could make delivery more difficult...
Hi, there.
I've been looking around for large cans of cat food to simplify the feral feeding. I've found some online and in stores, but they are ridiculously priced and I always figure if it's good enough for the ferals, it's good enough for my housecats and vice versa... so, virtually...
Hi, there. I'm wondering if any of you have found any good apps to use in coordinating colony care over a county area? I live in a fairly small town, and there are actually several people feeding at different locations, spread out, and we all know of each other, but it seems we can't communicate...
I'm sorry, I've never heard of and can't agree that letting the kittens get used to the fact that they're in a new environment before trying to engage them in fairly close interactions will most definitely make them feral! That is just absurd to me. I will just assume that it was the lean...
I would agree with the comments above about letting them first adjust to the concrete environment, and let them recognize that you play a very large (and coincidentally dominant) role in it. If you give them their space, they will begin to recognize you as the mover and the shaker. I never force...
So... the mother of the stillborn kitten is feeding kittens from the other female cats' litters, and attached to them emotionally so she is clinging to them? I just want to make sure I read the post right.
That doesn't seem like entirely abnormal behavior in the sense of anxiety, since most...
Hahaa. Cats have a tendency to turn into sandbags when they don't want to be moved! (And of course, all cat lovers love that about them)
And showing of claws isn't always bad, either. A lot of times, cats will express themselves that way, half-kneading in contentment. Sounds like your kittens...
Is it possible to set a time aside to bring them both into a room with you for a while where you can play with them together? My thinking is that their own predispositions are creating a vicious cycle that needs to be expanded to include other 'dynamics' with yourself as the diplomat; not pinned...
I used the Cat Attract sprinkle in the box for all my cat's litters, and it did seem to help some of the other kittens, and then some others it did not. They say when a cat is without one sense, it relies more heavily on another- her sense of smell is just about nil, also. I think whatever...
