A recliner is a chair where the footrest lifts up by using a handle and it reclines back for squishy decadent lounging. Small cats and mostly kittens can get up inside of it by going under. It can be very annoying to extract them from this desirable hiding place and they can get hurt.

I am not a doctor, but is it possible his aggression could be attributed to the fact his heart isn't pumping out blood correctly? Maybe his brain is receiving tainted, lesser amount needed or inferior blood. I suppose since it could be, then it can't be helped or resolved. Try yelling 'OW!"...

There isn't much more I can add here because the best option is wearing him out with play time and then feeding him before bed. The only thing I can add is to make sure he has several toys and of different types. Maybe that will distract and entertain him for a bit in the morning before he gets...
