    cats and norovirus??

Yes he does get senior visits, 2 times a year. The last time he got bloodwork was only about a month ago, maybe less, and it came back fantastic which is normal for him (thankfully) :) This is too quick of a change in behavior for me to think of chronic illness since he was so playful and active...

    cats and norovirus??

Hi everyone, At a family gathering on Sunday, 27 out of 30 of us contracted norovirus. Yesterday was my worst day, I could not get out of bed, throwing up/diarrhea, fever, all that fun stuff. I have two personal cats, Kida and Lavender, who stayed in my room with me while I was contagious so I...

21 y/old cat with VIOLENT allergies

Hello everyone, Just an update - I don't know if anyone has had any luck with this and I'm starting to feel a little doubtful it will work in our situation, but we started her on a hydrolyzed protein diet trial. It was worth a shot since we had a few hills cans lying around the house from our...

21 y/old cat with VIOLENT allergies

This is all great advice, thank you. She was run over by a car when she was younger so she is missing quite a few teeth and has a titanium piece in her jaw as a result of her facial/jaw fractures, which additionally can make chewing a bit of an issue at times so the meat bones would most likely...

21 y/old cat with VIOLENT allergies

To Box of Rain and iPappy, I have no idea how to reply to both of you at once, so I am just replying with the same response to both of you. Bare with me, I’m not great with this platform yet. The information regarding grinder contamination/manufacture contamination and label dishonesty is such...

21 y/old cat with VIOLENT allergies

I am going to respond to all of you, but I'm not quite familiar with this platform yet so it might take a little while. Hi there, thank you so much for taking the time to give me a...

21 y/old cat with VIOLENT allergies

Hello everyone, I am writing to you all today about one of my family cats, my beloved 21 year old girl named Lily who came into my life when I was 3 and I have not known a day of my life without her being in it. She has always been such a tiny cat, around 6 pounds during her younger days and...

    Senior feral cat socialization

Hi, I have posted about my boy, Lavender, a beautiful rare male blue tortoiseshell, a few times now for various reasons. But after doing a ton of research I keep getting mixed answers. To summarize my question, is it possible to socialize a senior feral cat? He is not able to be returned...

    Cat not eating after travel

He did move around last night and meowed a few times at least when I was awake. But he still is not eating or using the box at all during the day. I think he's been using it at night because the litterbox has way too much poop and pee for it be from only one cat in the morning when I clean it...

    Cat not eating after travel

Thank you so much for the speedy response! I thought about the calming collars, but I can barely approach him recently without him withdrawing so I don't know how I'd get one on him without causing even more stress. As for the treats for his medicine, he takes his gabapentin in a pill pocket...

    Cat not eating after travel

Hello all, Unfortunately, I am back once again with another health concern. I rescued two cats from my parking lot at my college off-campus house about three weeks ago who I had been feeding for about a year. They both came everyday to eat consistently and one of them lived permanently outside...

    Bladder stone remedies?

That's a great idea! I could only find large packs of the wet food version on chewy for $50-$60 and didn't want to buy the bulk order without knowing if Lavender would eat it or not, so that's a great alternative! I will do that :)

    Bladder stone remedies?

Thank you so much for the great advice! Unfortunately the vet's office only had the dry food version of his medicated diet - Lavender has absolutely no teeth left so although he does eat the dry food, I still feed him tiki cat wet food with water mixed in so that he has a higher water intake...

Please help!! Cat not acting right after neuter

Hello everyone, I recently trapped two cats that I have been feeding in my parking lot for about a year now - one is 3 years old, healthy and very domesticated, and one that is 10 years old, feral (or possibly least semi-feral), FIV positive, has no teeth, is blind in one eye and has bladder...

    Bladder stone remedies?

Hello all - bit of a long story, I have been feeding and sheltering two feral/stray cats since I moved into my off-campus house as a junior in college. I just graduated this semester, and couldn't bare to leave the kitties I'd been taking care of for two years behind. I trapped them both and...
